    Hello,

Similar to you I'm building 3 more e-bikes on BBSHD, before that I built two more on TSD2Z. The first is a typical rigid city e-bike with a sensational Alfine 11 hub, the next one was a large MTB with a 29" harttile, and after a few trips to the mountains - I decided to build an electric full bike. I got a Swiss Stockli from a very high shelf at a good price, but there is no space for the battery - too small triangle, too little space at the bottom of the bevel tube, so there is a backpack, or a tube above the rear wheel - a kind of trunk attached to the seat post. Sram X9 derailleur, 10 speed cassette. Shimano Deore XT) the problem of the correct chain line was solved by the front sprocket with 24.5 mm offset and the extension for the derailleur cage. Full 10-speed and 11-46 are now supported, no problems, I left the front derailleur only as chain guides for the front sprocket 42T. Smaller would it was useful, but I couldn't find any smaller one with such an offset, I would like to get a gear ratio of 0.7 - 0.8, but unfortunately not I see such a possibility. The ideal gearing for steep climbs is 36T front and 50T rear. , but due to the motor housing there is no chance for such a sprocket and 25mm offset. Maybe you met or maybe other colleagues somewhere with such an adaptation?
Looking at the 42T sprocket, you can see that there is still a lot of room for a smaller one, maybe 40T or even 39T. There is no chance for a smaller one that would cover the engine housing.
I also thought about the two sprockets in the front and about manual gear shifting - I mean manually shifting the chain just like you - it solves the case of fast driving on asphalt after playing in the mountains, or off road and asphalt commuting home. Maybe one of my colleagues can give me a sensible solution..

    I greet everyone

Here is a pic of my completed 2016 Trek Fuel Ex7 large frame conversion. 29er wheels, 48T Eclipse ring, 11/42 10S cassette, hydraulic dropper seat post, BBSHD, 20.5 ah 52V battery, shift and brake sensors.
I use a long strap (visible in picture) to pull the battery forward inside the triangle away from shock. I used the hose clamp method to secure the motor to the downtube because the commercially available torque arms/stabilizers all lowered the motor slightly and were visible. Hose clamps are hard to see, cheap, work fine and allow max ground clearance. Ground clearance is always an issue with these curved downtubes.
This is my fourth and final build. It is my third full suspension build following a Giant NRS 2 and Kona King Kickapoo. The Giant and the Kona were good but had 26 inch tires and were not nearly as plush on the rear suspension. This thing is like a couch when shock is set full open and reasonably stiff when set to hard. Absolutely perfect for my purpose. I am finally happy. The goal was to make a fast, long range, comfortable commuter that has the ability to go almost anywhere. The tall stem extender allows a completely straight up riding position. It does reduce performance on jumping and aggressive single track but that is a small portion of my riding. I may install a wider range cassette but my area is flat so acceleration and climbing ability are ok for now with 42T gear.
Range is about 50km with aggressive above 40Kmh speeds and close to 100km using pedal assist only and keeping speeds around 32Kmh or lower.
    Top speed is about 65Kmh.

Sup. Depending on the situation you might be able to flip the shock around for a little extra clearance. I did that on one of my frames and it got me what I needed to make it practical.

    Hi Pax
Bought the 2017 Trek Fuel EX7 I linked above. It's a large frame with 29er wheels. I now have a complete BBSHD kit installed and am fitting a 52V, 20.5ah small triangle battery in the frame. I have confirmed she will go but its gonna be tight. The battery actually fits easily but the bag is a bit larger than the battery. The excess baggage (pun intended) is causing some issues. It will go for sure but I think there is no way to prevent the bag (excess fabric only) from touching the top of the rear shock. Just sorting the best way to secure the internal battery as far forward as possible to be sure it doesn't slip back inside the bag and hit the shock. I've got some ideas. Will post pics when done. Been super busy so facing delays. Pretty sure it will be killer though.

Those curved triangle types are almost always trouble. But who knows, maybe if you have a frame large enough it won't matter

    Nice find on the frame!

    Kona King Kickapoo 2006?
    18.5 frame, 26×2.3 tires
    BBSHD 68mm, 46T, 850C
    52V, 17.5ah
    Straightforward conversion with 68mm kit.
Used 6mm of spacers on chain side for gearcase/chainstay clearance. Still plenty of threads on locknut but chain line was off. Solved by modifying rear cassette then locking out the two inboard sprockets. I moved a couple of the smaller sprockets inboard so my 3rd gear is the tallest. Reduced from 9 speed to 7 as a result but 7 is plenty.
considered getting a Luna offset ring but modded cassette works great, is cheap and means I can now put as large ring as I want since teeth are outside chainstay. I could conceivably go for an 11-50 cassette with a larger ring and get a huge gearing range.
The only negative is old school geometry but the new stuff usually has a curved downtube making ground clearance sub optimal with motor hanging down. Also I can confirm this will easily fit a EM3 52V, 20.5 ah triangle while the newer frames tend to limit battery more. I feel like the older geometry is a real drawback only at speeds over 50km so a worthy trade off especially considering the donor was cheap.

My Wolf can be affixed low because it is sealed and impact resistant.
Hi Electric Bikers, This is my first eBike build. Yeah it's hard to say for sure. I'd make a cardboard replica of the shark battery and see if it fits or not. Pretty sure they have a template on the site for it.

Your best bet would probably be to just mount the battery on the underside of the down tube. If you look at the wolf battery it has steel rails that go along the sides so you can mount it upside down with something like steel cable ties.
