Rodney64 - I think you may have copied a different build thread. The build thread for the Trance 3 above is: http://electricbike.com/forum/forum/...ld-w-sharkpack

BBSHD conversion on vintage Jamis Dakota MTB...
After consulting with Ron (Spinning Magnets) about various ideas, I decided to buy the basic BBSHD kit. It all fit together nicely and to my astonishment worked flawlessly right off the bat. I was too preoccupied during assembly to document anything. In a nutshell it is the 48V 1000W motor, 52V 14ah battery pack with various add-ons like the cut-off brake levers, 42T Luna Eclipse chainring, etc. The chainring gave me perfect chain alignment on the middle cog of a 9-speed cassette. The cut-off brake levers worked fine with the old school roller cam brakes I'm using... I wasn't sure how that was going to go.
I did manage to get the motor a bit warm today during various test runs. The battery pack stayed cool however.
Thanks to the crew at Luna!
