Our Trek MTB donor bike is the gift that just keeps on giving - I used it to get better quality V-brakes. The V-brake and Dual Compound Kool Stop brake pads probably tripled the stopping power of the Townie originals. Maybe I'll get a hydraulic disc brake in the front if I upgrade the suspension but we're in no hurry.
