    Convert to raised chainstay?

I have a 2003 Trek Navigator 400 7 Speed IGH bike. It has an upgraded street fork- Rockshox Europa, Avid 185mm fr. disc/ Shimano HD roller brake rear (heatsink looks like disc brake). Not much room for a battery on the 14" BMX style 26" frame, but looks good for a BBSHD other than that. This is the 16" version w/o brake/fork upgrades.

Has any one added a raised chainstay to an existing frame, and then removed the original one, keeping the old dorpout in the same place? I'm even thinking run it above the belt/chain line and tie it into the seat tube and the downtube. The aluminum on this frame is thick as hell and not an exotic alloy. maybe even curve the tube down around the front gear for style points.

Why do you need/want to raise the chainstay?

      Considering a belt drive BBSHD.
