Voltage range of the BBSHD controller

Does anyone know the voltage range of a BBSHD controller? I've seen that the top end is around 60v but wondering about the bottom range. Would it be ok to run 36v? Any ideas on how I can find out? Documentation, etc? Thanks

I am no expert but I believe all the stock BBSHD controllers are 40-60v. Basically designed for a 48v battery but happen to have just enough headroom to sneak up to a 52. The BBS02 I think is still available with a 36v controller when its sold as a 500w system but the 750w 48v seems to be much more common. Luna Ludicrous V2 can do 72v but im not sure if the low end changes. Grinn Phase runner may be programmable down to 36v and I think can go over 100v.

Why would you want to run a BBSHD on 36v? Because you already own a 36v battery and all the 48/52's you want are on backorder? With the programming cable you may be able to set the low voltage cutoff lower and the max power lower so your range isn't terrible but I think some of the displays may overide controller settings like low voltage.

if the display can support it, ludicrous v2 can work down to 20v input or so

The config tool supports LVCO down to 18V

What's LVCO? Low voltage cut off? Also, is there any documentation on how to use the config tool? Thanks.

18v should be fine for 36v then so I guess it can be done. My guess is if you did that on an HD you would also want to go in and lower a bunch of other settings so you don't overload the battery as easily and maybe get a reasonable range. Hopefully its just a temp situation till you get a 48/52 otherwise its kinda a waste of a HD unit.

        Yes, low voltage cutoff
