need 10mm internal steering tube extension

Help! trying to find a steering tube extender so I can mount the thinstem handlebar rotation system on my eclipse. The thinstem is about 11 mm taller than the steering tube.
the only thing I can find is an out of stock $110.? version from velobike in australia. this can't be. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm guessing ideally you'd want this extension to mechanically attach to the steering tube? If that doesn't matter, how about a short section of cutoff steering tube from the local bike shop, as the gap filler?

If being mechanically attached is a must, possibly you could cut cut down a Bike24 BBB Cycling Ahead extender:

... but the steering tube being about 3/8 too short in the thinstem is not something I'd loose sleep over.

Thanks, ncmired, I was tempted to just try installing the thinstem and not put as much pressure on the top pinch bolt. It prolly will be strong enough, and at 70 yrs old not gonna be attempting any intentional TRICK riding.
I like the idea of a piece of cutoff stem just to take up space and help against distortion of empty space on thinstem. Nothing near me but I'll look. also will order an adapter like suggested!

Other members here have already installed theirs, not sure if they just left the gap or what, but maybe they will respond with their experience on this.

Installed the Thinstem leaving the gap and kept less tension on top clamping bolt. Seems sound.

Took bike for 16 mi country adventure with about 1/3 mi in a rough fallow farm field - bouncy for sure, me 210 lbs, but the eclipse throttle's got some grunt! LOVED IT

After ride no slop or sign of change in clamping gap of the Thinstem, so I'll keep riding this way and put a proper fix on slow burn. I'm confident, and appreciate ncmired's thoughts!

LUNA, this forum, and the folks makin it happen are such a BONUS free accessory that I never even considered when I was trying to decide on an ebike.

Kinda like having a factory rep in my kitchen!

Let me ask you: is it safe to use such a tube? Are there any problems with it?

Hi, you mean the Bike24 BBB Cycling Ahead extender? If so, I believe so - especially in his case where he just needs to extend the original diameter up 3/8, so that there no added stress on the stem. I don't foresee any issues with either method, based on how he's riding the bike.

The plug style extenders are, AFAIK, the same way the tall folding extenders are done:

Reminds me, I've got one of these folders I'm trying to adapt for one of my Neutrino builds.
