Hello all,
First time eBuilder here starting to assemble a Motobecane 29er fatbike with a Bafang bbshd. Waited until the bike arrived before ordering the motor kit to get a look at the chainstay shape in person. I decided that I was likely going to have an issue if I got the standard 68-73 unit so I went with the 100mm. I am currently dry fitting everything that has arrived so far and have determined that I need a minimum of 7mm spacers on the drive side to have chainring clearance. That leaves me a 22mm gap to fill on the non-drive side. The stock installation uses ridges on the motor mounting plate to bite into the BB shell, I will have spacers in that position so I need another way to prevent the drive rotating down.
Has anyone else dealt with a similar installation personally? I would appreciate any input or suggestions. There is a short (1min) video showing exactly what I'm talking about if my description did not explain it clearly.
Thanks in advance !
Joe B
