    Onboard Amp Meter

I am just wondering if anyone has incorporated an ammeter or similar device into their ebike. I was looking at this rather inexpensive item:

I think this would look really cool on the side of a battery box! If it works.

Been using batt-man (on the right):

I started with a $20 ammeter and shunt from Amazon, not too different than that. When it failed I got another, but only use it to monitor charging batteries. On my bike, I also got a BattMan. Just last night I broke the mounting bracket, so need to remount it. Plastic is brittle at 5F. But in general it's been great.
Fabrication is fun! Build something today. Show someone. Let them help. Inspire and share. Spread the desire.

I went through three of those cheap guys. All indoor to monitor the relatively low current charging. None lasted more than a month (blank display) and two lasted a mere week or two. Might be bad luck but I sure as heck wasn't going to bother with one on my bike.
