Ugrade FLX 48v Ebike Battery and Test Reports

Luna Cycles is now offering the quickest and easiest upgrade for the FLX imaginable. (see it here)

Just pop out your old 36v battery and drop the Luna 48v Flx battery to instantly make your FLX bike significantly faster,

This upgrade is considered experimental.... so if you do it you are taking a chance to fry your motor and your warranty will be voided.

This looks a lot like the battery that Juiced uses on the Crosscurrent/Air. Does anybody know if these are compatible?

Very excited to play with this. I have ordered and received the battery, however, no charger came in the box. I was told that they will be sending me one, meanwhile I get to look at my dead battery and wait.

I ordered one of the advanced chargers as it will probably beat the missing charger. Eric had mentioned that they changed the charge connector to not match the standard FLX connector so someone wouldn't plug in the wrong charger. I just checked and the Luna 5.1mm barrel connectors on their XT60 adapter pigtails fit both standard 36V and this new 48V pack as well so I'm not sure what Eric was referring to but one must be careful to mark their cords to avoid a mix-up!

Edit, charger arrived, inserted a watt meter in-line and am filling it up now at 2.6A rate. Fingers crossed that I don't fry anything besides some pavement!

        Hello,
New to this site. Just bought used 1st Gen FLX Trail. Love the look and feel, but would like more hill-climbing power for a short ( 100yds), steep heartbreaker that I face at the end of every ride. I am wondering about any follow-up on 48v battery upgrade, specifically motor or controller damage and increased performance, particularly as regards hill climbing. Thanks very much.

My OEM G1 Attack battery is dead after being stood too long, guessing some cells below protect voltage.

Whilst this is discontinued, could Luna use my old OEM pack as donor to build a replacement 48V pack? I'm guessing not all cells bad?

Or is anyone aware of anywhere else I could get hold of a 48V replacement if Luna not offering any more?
