    Sur Ron foot pegs material

Does anyone know what material the Sur Ron foot pegs are made of? I'm thinking of getting mine powder coated and I'm aware certain metals need special treatment during the process.

I am also a newbie to the surron X. 60 miles so far. Cant wait until it dries up a bit more.
I love this bike.. i intend to upgrade it into a Heavty-Duty trail bike. (Dont mind the stupid questions?)
I`m thinking of getting larger more comfortable foot-pegs. (any color will do)
The first thing one has to get used too is the foot-pegs without a rear brake pedal or gear shifter to help balance your boots/shoes.
Any suggestion about where one should mount the foot-pegs into the frame. 3 positions availabale. I used the middle one.
    5`10" 170 lbs. 32" linseam.

Yeah, good question on the footpegs, as I also am running the middle mounting position. You might try moving it around to see which you prefer...

For trail riding I found the stock pegs to be the perfect size but there was no grip. A few minutes with a file fixed this problem and now I have nice sharp pegs like a real dirt bike. The narrow size allows me to drop my heels on steep down hills and also to rotate my foot forward and push back on steep uphills. I especially enjoy not having to deal with a rear foot brake or a shifter.

If you're still trying to figure out what the footpegs are made of the actual footpeg part is made of aluminum. I believe the base that bolts to the bracket is steel.
