Put your bike on a stand so the rear tire has no weight.Remove the 2 bolts that hold the shock on.Unwind the spring tension completely till it’s all the way backed off.Push the spring retainer down so it can pass over the shock shaft.Should take about 15 minutes. For my weight(165bs)it’s pretty stiff.

Sorry, I meant to say it's a Fast Ace BDA53RC rear shock. I can't seem to get the spring retainer removed unless I have to unbolt it from the hex key which I don't think I should do.
I can't seem to find any videos to do this properly so I might have to go to a friends motorcycle shop & figure this out.

In order to replace the spring, you have to remove the shock completely from the bike. Unbolt the shock and linkages until you can wiggle the shock out. After the shock is out, loosen the threaded ring at the top of the shock spring until the ring is at the top of the shock; the lower spring retainer/seat needs to lift up, off the shock body, then you can remove the retainer through the keyway in the retainer; this allows the spring to drop down off the shock. You may need to CAREFULLY remove the rebound adjuster knob, in order clear the spring off the shock. (I did not need to remove my rebound adjuster knob with my DNM shock.).
Just a reminder, when you change your spring rate, you alter the dampening characteristics. Hopefully, there is enough range in the dial adjusters (compression and rebound) to accommodate for the spring changes.

Linkage doesn’t need removing, just the two bolts that hold the shock on.

Any know if the DNM 550lb spring will fit on a DVO Jade 10.5x.3.5? I was lucky enough to snag the last 550 Ti spring off ebay, but it's going to take forever to make it to me.

I got the 550 spring installed on the FastAce rear shock, I took it to friends motorcycle / machine shop. I just needed more hands.
