    Assistance with removing brake sensors

Hey everyone. I just received my Sur-Ron X Black Edition and am in the process of removing the brake sensors.

I understand that you can now program the X controller to keep it from cutting off when applying brakes, but I like the look without all of the cables up front so I removed them. I still have the kickstand sensor as a back up for programming.

Here's my plan/question... I'd really like to keep an easy way to program the controller so I am reaching out to you guys to see if this would work. For the 2 wire "hall" sensor, is this just an "on/off" switch without a resistor? Can I just cut the sensor off, and solder in a push button that can remain in the battery compartment?

My multimeter died so I don't have anything handy to check resistance.

    Here's the sensor in question:

The plug marked "F" is the front brake plug. Basically I want to plug in the existing sensor harness (with a push button soldered in place of the hall sensor) and leave the entire thing underneath the ignition.

    Should work just fine.

Thank you. I'll report back when the installation is complete. I'm on the hunt for the perfect water resistant/waterproof push button switch.

        This would work nicely...

        By-passing the brake sensors.

While bypassing the brake sensors, I also wanted to remove as much wiring as possible.
But.. Someday I might like to use this bike to connect trails and pretend t be as Street-legal as possible.
If I cut or remove the brake Sensor wiring. I will have to find another way to turn on a rear brake light.

Therefore I am still in the process of learning how to program every aspect of the controller.
Luna/Surron has a video on the controller programing.

        Thank you sc-surfer.
I had a pair of wire snippers in my hand, As I was ready to snip Something told me to check this site.

This is part 1 of programing the X-controller.

Thanks, I programmed out the brake sensors and disabled regen prior to the removal, but still wanted to clean up the the cable routing and still have a way to program the bike since the kickstand method is kind of a pain in the butt.

I'm not worried about being street legal and needing brake lights so no issue there. I actually removed the taillight and am adding a blackout switch for the headlight.

Its a Police issue.. Numerous motorist complaints about obnoxious MX-riders.
I/we act civilized and legal the Police won`t bother me/us crossing the highway intersection.

I posted that link, late last night.
I was intending to watch it today. While taking notes.
My mistake. There is nothing in the video about disabling the brake sensors.

Question... Where can I find information or a video of by-passing the Brake sensors.??
It was one year ago yesterday that I received my Surrron light bee from Luna Cycle..
No instructions of programing the Controller.

            Here ya go...

Turn key off. Then turn on. After squeezing the brakes (or kickstand or whatever), turn key off and back on.

            X Controler Programing

Level 1 regenerative coasting = 2 short brake pull, 1 long
Level 2 regenerative coasting = 3 short brake pull, 1 long
Level 3 regenerative coasting = 4 short brake pull, 1 long
Turning off the regenerative coasting = 7 short brake lever pull (and I *think* one long...List I got was incomplete)
Turning off the e-brake sensors = 8 short brake lever pull (and I *think* one long...List I got was incomplete)
Turning ON the e-brake sensors = 9 short brake lever pull and 1 long

            C & P from Paxtana. Surron dirt-bikes,, Modification & adjustment section.
            Programming Sur-Ron Controller,

Support notes this only works if you have the X controller pre-installed. IF you bike came with the base controller and added the x controller later this will not work. Please note it is not promised or guaranteed that all X controllers have this capability, but if you want to give it a try, go for it!

Note the factory bike comes programmed at level 3 (which is max regen)

Level 1 regenerative coasting = 2 short brake pull, 1 long
Level 2 regenerative coasting = 3 short brake pull, 1 long
Level 3 regenerative coasting = 4 short brake pull, 1 long
Turning off the regenerative coasting = 7 short brake lever pull
Turning off the e-brake sensors = 8 short brake lever pull
Turning ON the e-brake sensors = 9 short brake lever pull and 1 long
        Working...
        X
