I just noticed that the price went up for a Sur Ron (right before I was about to pull the trigger). I also noticed that the Segway x260 is completely out of stock. Does anyone know if these bikes are starting to become in short supply?

The price just 'probably' went up as an annual increase type of thing, or they are possibly running out of stock. I know that in the past, you had to wait for a container delivery to Luna to get your bike shipped to you. I am sure there will be more coming, but honestly, it is still dollar for dollar the best deal for a FUN TO RIDE bike.

The price went up to get people to stop buying the last few in inventory, so we would not be sold out for months on end like is the situation now. Next preorder should be up in about a month, with delivery month later.

Excuse me Paxtana for poking my nose in, but I've read a lot of your posts and I must have had a different idea of the type of person you were I guess, but this post is really disturbing to be honest. That is one hell of a business philosophy you got there. "the price went up to get people to stop buying the last few in inventory". WHAT?
That makes literally no sense. As if any company on the planet takes pride in having stock on hand that they can't sell. What's the purpose of keeping bikes on hand if you aren't going to sell them? Do you ride them around the office? Do you use them to get pick up chicks? Do you use them to impress your future business partners and need at least 5 on hand at all times?
Your companies existence hinges on it's ability to sell things, to complain that you've sold all the things is like a pizza buffet place rejoicing at the end of the night when they have to throw away garbage bags full of pizza that didn't get sold. That's like a lemonade stand refusing to sell you it's last cup of lemonade. Yet insisting on remaining open, sign and all, greeting every passerby.
It's like an empty store having an open sign brightly lit , and a "hot deals" sign only to be completely void of anything to purchase, yet a handful of employees standing there smiling asking if they can help you find anything.Last edited by oakley242424; 03-30-2021, 02:17 AM.

Thanks for the feedback I guess? It is perhaps notable I don't own the company or make those decisions.
Anyway a more accurate summary might be that the price went up to slow sales, rather than stopping them. Simple supply and demand; demand was through the roof and we only had a few left on hand, so price went up. Happens all the time in commerce.
I know it may not appear to make sense but being sold out of a highly requested item for months on end is actually worse in several ways than having it available at a higher price.

Paxtana, the $3,600 price didn’t seem to be a Black Friday price since that was the price for many months prior to Black Friday. Once you guys get the next batches in and start filling up inventory will the price go back to $3,600? Or, is there zero chance of a lower price even when stock is plentiful? Those folks who were disappointed in the sudden price increase would like a concrete answer about this so we could make an informed decision without regretting it later. Thanks!

The pre-order option is up and active now. Says expecting APR shipping. 3850 and you have the option to upgrade the fork to the DVO Onyx for 995. When I bought mine in Jan, the fork upgrade option was not available. They came into stock after I bought the bike and so when they came in, I payed the 1190 for them. Nice fork, glad I got it. WAY better than the stock RST.
So my point is-------if you ARE going to upgrade your fork, AND you want the Onyx, then 3850 for the bike and ~1K fork upgrade=4850
I bought at 3600 + 1190 for the fork = 4790.00
If you Pre-order now and want the DVO fork upgrade, you really are not paying that much more in the end-60 bucks
The DVO fork, if you buy it direct, is 1385.00-so even at 1190 it was a good deal.

Paxtana, thanks for the reply. Wondering...do you guys have a way of projecting how long the preorder option with the estimated April shipping date will last based on sales history etc and how many units you’re getting?
