I adjusted my belt tension yesterday from specs in the knowledge base tutorial. 1/8" of flex is tight. i've been riding 3 models of beemer with belt drive for these past many years. in the early days their spec was tight too. then one year it changed to slightly more loose. i understood clearly why: my final drive belt wasted the rear sprocket bearings at their old spec.
Anyway my SRX is fine with only 450 miles on her and the belt was still in spec yesterday when i checked it. sorry, that's a lot but here's my question.
The knowledge base tutorial is a bit dated and i wonder if there has been any changes to that? I woke up this morning thinking of our tighter than usual Chain spec ( and i understand why) and the primary Belt spec tightness in relation to that jackshaft and its bearings? not to mention the motor bearings.
Any experienced advise or comments welcome please?
