    Longer kickstand?

Has anybody made a longer kickstand or extended theirs?

    #2
Funny you mention this... I just purchased a second kickstand for my Sur-ron... I want to shorten it for my SuperMoto wheels. At the current time, the bike stands upright too much and could fall over. This way when I have the MC wheels on, I put that kickstand on and vice-versa for the SM wheels...

Shortening or extending it shouldn't be too hard as long as the aluminum its made out of can be welded easily.

I agree... I'm going to cut the foot off, shorten it about 1.5" (that should get enough lean with the SM wheels on) and reweld it, paint it and be done with it...

let me know how it goes
I know sometimes cast type aluminum doesn’t weld well

            I printed one of these.

for sur-ron which has larger front wheel. add some height to OEM kickstand. you need: three M4x25mm bolts

I had a piece of one inch dowel laying around so I cut a couple of inch and a quarter pieces and J B Welded them to the bottom of my kickstands. Wasn't sure it was going to work but it's been 8 months and they're both still on. Not pretty but works great.

the extended side stand or adjustable side stand priced too dear for me. i used a 1" black nut, filled the ends and J B weld it on. Still on there!
helps alot with 21" front and knobbies on both ends.
                thank you Paladin

I'm confused... what size wheels do you guys have that requires a "longer" kickstand. My stock kickstand works fine with my 19" wheels... its the SuperMoto wheels that make the bike lower to the ground that I have an issue with...

I have 18-21 wheels with riser linkage. Kickstand is about 1.75” too short now.

I have a 21 in in the front with a riser link. The bike falls over without a lengthened kickstand.

I did the same thing over the weekend. If it doesn’t hold up I’ll try the welded option next.

But what to do then you're not familiar with welding and welders(as far as I know MIG welders are popular now)? Can you recommend a ready-to-go long kickstand(brand, model?)

Honestly, I purchased another kickstand so I would have 2... one for MC wheels and the other for SM wheels. I did a quick search in my area and found a welder 1/2 mile from me. I went over and he did it right there while I waited (15 minutes) and he charged me $20 I think... I went home checked the fitment, removed it and painted it... DONE...!!

NTC makes a great adjustable kickstand. Finally have a longer one that works well on my modified bikes. Their peg brackets are nice too. (broke mine))
Hi quality stuff and everything fit perfectly. Click image for larger version
