How hard is changing rear surron tire

guys. I need to change the 17" nobby tire on my rear. I have no tools beyond just the hand spoons used for a mx tire. How hard is this? is this like a bike tire or like a mx tire? I'm limited on patience.

Also- are you running heavy tubes or just regular iwth slime?

The OEM wheels are 19", have you converted to 17"?

The 19" OEM tyres are very easy to remove and install, closer to an MTB than an MX bike.

New tires are a pain in the arse. Probably worth taking the rim/tire to a shop and paying the 30$. If you want to try it yourself buy a couple extra tubes. Use lots of soapy water and leave the new tire in the sun to loosen it up a bit.

Thanks Quinc. Just to close off the thread... i did complete this. This is no harder than a bmx bike. you just need basic spoons for removing the tire from rim. Total time was 30mins.

These guys have a good detailed vid for changing Sur-ron tires, including all the tools (which they sell) you need. You can probably get by without all the special tools, but they make life easier, don't damage your rims, and save the skin on you knuckles.
