I over torqued bolt above stem, snapping off head. Trying to do a headset adjustment. Can I remove tube with out removing forks? Has to is happened to anyone?
thanks
You should be able to knock the star nut further down into the tube, and install a new one over it. I'm not aware of any easy way to get he old one out. With the head snapped off you may be able to get the rest of the bolt out easily. If you broke that I'm guessing you didn't loosen the stem clamp bolts? Or the stem was corroded onto the tube. You need to figure that out so you don't break the next one too. There really shouldn't be much tension on that bolt. The stem clamp is what holds the adjustment.
