    Sur-Ron X, low power fix doesn't work

So my new X's got delivered and both have the "low power" (green & black) wire cut. When I connect them there is more power, but not what was promised. Instead of 25mph top speed, when I connected the wire it goes 35mph. My friends regular MX goes 45, and the X was supposed to go 20% faster. Not the case is there something wrong with mine (two)?

Update: Brought battery inside for a few hours, and clocked 44mph on a 34 degree day. I don't think we will best the MX top speed, but it does feel like there is a bit more torque off the line.

My X just arrived as well. the low power wire is also cut. I will try to get some time to fix it and see if I too have the same issue. Hope not!

The controller does pull more current than stock but that's more about torque than speed, sorry for the miscommunication as it was really intended to mean more like speed "off the line" as opposed to top speed. If you just got the bike, plug it in and try it when it's fully charged and it should show more desirable speeds but 20% faster top speed than regular surron would not be possible without a completely new battery redesign for higher voltage. Not ruling that out as a future option, but that's not what the X bike is.

It is about 24 degrees here, I am wondering how much power that knocked off. I am getting 52mph on the stand in the garage. Also I do weigh 225, but again I was able to make 45 on my friend's MX. I will let you know the results when we race.

The speedo will go a lot higher in the repair stand than when you have weight on the bike.

Did you pay $4500 or did you get the new $4000 price? I am $1000 (two bikes) upset about that too.

Yes all lithium will have a higher voltage sag whenever it is used in freezing conditions as described here https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...li-ion-battery

This test was done on GA rather than PF but the principle is the same.

I didn't see they did that. I hope they make good on it. Did you contact them?

I did my first decent ride today after fixing the 'low speed' wire. The bike is A LOT more fun. I rode a dirt road up the hillside and did about 17 miles. Battery went from around 91% to 35%. Not bad, not great. Will have to test harder next time, but didn't want to walk home as it's cold out! My speedo showed 45ish mph but my butt-dyno says that might be a bit generous. I'll have to get the gps out to test. It's still fast enough most of the time.

Getting the bike off the road and into some trails is AWESOME! It's so light (compared to a dirt bike) and it just bounds over everything I could find today. I need to get to some more severe trails before the snow sets in!

I love how light this little thing is. You can pull the front wheel up almost too easily and I can easily see someone looping this out if they are used to heavier dirt bikes. The front end comes up (with a touch of power) as easily as my mountain bike.

Luna would not refund the difference for their sale price. Pretty frustrated with that as this has never been a problem with other companies selling unique items that changed prices. If I had seen sooner, I would have shipped my bike back and ordered another at the lower price. My bike arrived on Cyber Monday so I was too busy building it to notice this sale. This, and a few other interactions I've had with Luna are not thrilling nor confidence inspiring for their customer support. However, they did offer an olive branch and I do really appreciate that. Not a refund, but some store credit.

The fact that you bought 2 bikes RLP65202 sucks. I would contact them if I was you.

Early adopters always pay more, that's the standard among all consumer electronics.
Not to mention that it is in the terms and conditions:

"All prices are subject to change without notice."

You literally have to check a box agreeing to these terms when you place the order.

Sorry you are somehow unsatisfied with the hundreds in store credit offered that the company was in no way obligated to provide at all, it's a bit absurd if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, it sucks to see a price drop after paying for something but trying to blame customer support for your regret is a bit much.

              "Early adopters always pay more."

Yeah, but not one week after they first come on the market.

Don't get me wrong, I get where you are coming from.

I just bought two google pixel phones, one on launch day and the other last month. Google's black friday deal was a buy two get one half off deal. Would have saved hundreds, but hey, that's life. No company is obligated to do retroactive discounts and in my experience doing so is rare, that the company is offering so much in store credit (almost equal to the entire discount amount if I remember correctly) is already more than most do.

But I guess we're all entitled to our own opinion.
