High Power / Turbo Mode Button How-To

Just picked up a Luna Sur-Ron X and out of the box the lower power mode is fine, but you can cut a wire in the harness for high power mode. But instead of running high power 100% of the time, I wired in a switch so you can toggle back and forth. One mode to conserve power, the other for TURBO/High Power Mode.

Here is a YouTube video I made of it:

Nice! I was thinking about something like that, had a bar mounted switch lying around.

I heard of people who's bike barely moved without the wire joined (on the older bikes).

I noticed plenty of power with the new bike, wire intact. The only difference I see with the wire clipped is more top speed. Got wheelies and great power before I clipped the wire, just felt like the clutch slipped (lol) at 20mph. My highest max was 21mph unclipped and 44mph clipped.

Let us know if you think it does save battery switching back and forth after you have some ride time.

I wish I had more time to ride it, problem is Luna shipped me a bike with a defective battery and I have spent two weeks going back and forth with them trying to get them to replace it. It's really been super hard and very disappointing to say the least. Spent $3600 + tax + $180 to ship the bike, and since I am a 3-3.5hr+ drive they think since I am "relatively" close that I should make the trip out to swap the battery so they don't have to ship it.

My buddy bought a new bike and decided to make the drive and pick it up, so I sent my bad battery with him- instead of Luna swapping it, the guy that works at Luna broke the factory warranty sticker, toyed with some wires, and said it was fixed.

It wasn't and it's still broken. The gauge reads incorrect battery charge levels and it will randomly die on me.

Overall, it's been a terrible experience but I think I am finally getting somewhere. Hoping they will ship me a battery at this point... i'll believe it when I see it

I'm confused. Do you see that button on on your handlebar that says EP/SPORT? That does exactly what you just wired up the second switch to do. Why do you need a second switch?

I`m curious... With a defective battery how would you know.
My experience at first ride. In EP-mode went up a decent size hill, has to use my feet as paddles to go over the top.
Sport mode.#1 with a longer stretch run to the hill, I did an EZ 5 foot leap over the top.
Sport mode # 2. Drifted to the base of the hill, Almost full throttle. I did an EZ 5 foot leap also.

Hate to say this but I`ll be 69 years old in a month.
For its weight and its almost instant torque I have to force myself to slow down.
Going on 150 +miles so far no problems. Except for the Brake Squeal and brake handles sticking,
Soon ,, I intend to do lots of upgrades. Brakes-4 ply tires-54 tooth sprocket.-cushion seat.
What I don't need is more power. just more safety and comfort.

Last visit to the Doctor. She told me I was in perfect shape and said I could live to be 100.
I told her I was going to buy anther dirt bike. Revised my life expectancy to just 60 days.
