BBSHD Discontinuation Parts Availability

From what I’ve read, the BBSHD is to be discontinued sometime in the next year. What will the future of parts sourcing for the BBSHD? Is there sufficient third party manufacturers for controllers, pinion gears, nylon reduction gears, etc?

Do I own a new but near-future paperweight?

Last summer when a few of the next gen BBS's made it into the wild someone did ask and I think Pax said at least as of that time they were not being told the existing stuff was being discontinued but just in case Luna was working on alternatives.

Bafang is not discontinuing bbshd. They are offering variations likely for OEMs that want to lock down prebuilt bikes while still using such a time-tested motor.
