Hi. I'm new to electric bikes. I have a question about lithium battery packs. Due to price of 5000w batteries, Could I use a 72v 3000w battery on a 72 5000w hub motor? Or any ideas would be appreciated.

Battery voltage is up to the controller. If the controller is programmable and has the range you could in theory have a 500v battery on a 250w motor. A 5000w system hopefully supports 72v. It would be a pretty impractical design to have a 5000w system at 48v, that would be over 100 amps. Even at 72v its still 70 amps.
