    Squeal Under Load

I just finishing assembling an ebike using the BBSHD. Fun project, so far.

    If interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LW8aRoqn58

The thing that's driving me crazy right now is a significant squeal when under load - eg. speeding up or in a high speed. I've narrowed it down to be quite certain that it's coming from within the BBSHD itself and I can make it happen when the motor is off if I push on the cranks real hard OR with the motor accelerating me. I've tightened everything down real tight (about 5 times), but can't make it go away yet. I'm thinking about opening up the motor with a tube of grease, but hate to open up a brand new motor. Any ideas?

If the squeal is considerable probably best to open up and inspect - https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...e-and-greasing

I was hoping to hear the noise in your video but apparently it's not in the video? Good video description of your project though.

Is it possible to return it to the seller? You may be invalidating your warranty by opening it yourself without speaking to the vendor first.

I like that you started with a Santa Cruz frame!

I like the idea of getting proactive and applying more grease to the interior of the motor. Forum member and I Gr8 did this, and it wasn't so bad. He did all of the work; I just had a front row seat. We used a YouTube video for instructions.
