This install is going to be a test fit. In the next step, we install the front chain and and check its alignment. It is likely that we are going to have to make adjustments to the spacers on the motor mount.
Note. The plate spacing should be 73mm not 72mm for this build.
The motor mount plates slide over the bottom bracket shell. The bottom bracket support cup and the bottom bracket cartridge hold the motor mounts in place.
Install the support cup into the left side of the bottom bracket shell. Leave about 7mm of the support cup thread exposed: 3mm for the mounting plate, 3mm for the locking ring, and 1mm exposed after assembly.
Slide the mount mount plate over the support cup.
Turn the locking ring onto the support cup.
Insert the Bottom bracket cartridge. Tighten it finger tight. Use the provided zip tie and hose clamp to rotate the motor into position.
Tighten bottom bracket cartridge and the locking ring on the support cup. I am using a Sugino chainwheel tool tighten the locking ring. If you find yourself reaching for a screwdriver and hammer to whack the locking ring into place… just don’t.
