Thanks for the positive feedback! It is flat where I live, so I am only using two gears on my mid drive. The MXUS 3000W is a wonderful motor, but...it only allows a one-speed freewheel. It is also capable much more power than I would use, so it would be heavier than I would need.

I was very intrigued by the Leafbike 1500W, which fits standard 135mm rear dropouts, meaning just about any bicycle frame you like. It allowed a 6-speed freewheel so it "looks normal", and it has the efficient thin laminations, along with thicker factory phase wires. However, I never pulled the trigger because it did not have the aluminum core to manage the heat, effectively doubling the peak amps on flat ground, while being cheaper and lighter than the MXUS 3000.

I bugged a couple factories to make this, and finally someone took all the good features above, and added the aluminum core, so I bought one of the first units. I still don't know who is making these, but soon others will follow.

I don't even get mine hot yet (I am waiting for a bigger controller, am now using sensorless 12-FET), and I already added ferrofluid, so I could write about that, and get pictures for the article.

That's great news Bill, glad you are now happy with your setup. I'm still cruisin around at 30mph on the flats waiting for this 1000 watt to bite it so maybe I can get a bigger one, ( justification to the financial consultant in this house lol), just hate that the hills here are so hard on it. But I still use it everyday I get to work, as long as it isn'r raining. Had an idiot in a car ride behind me today for like a mile, he could have passed at any time, suddenly starts layning on his horn, passes and nearly cuts me off. I was doing 32, speed limit is 40. Some people just don't get it . At least he didn't hit me..... Ride on safely man, later

Well I just ordered that big triangle. I got a rent check I didn't think I would see this year. I haven't had a financial planner in more than 35 years. I still have to try to keep myself in check though. That hub I was talking about would cost $1000 with a cycle analyst and the wheel build I want to try. Then a second BBSHD so I have a complete second bike. There is another frame I have been thinking of not to mention the trike I want to try.

Yeah I am keeping myself in check.

If I get hit and survive it, I will own their @sses you can believe that!!! I try to be courteous, get over when I can and all, but this was a two lane road I commute on almost daily, or every day I get to work anyway. First time this has happened since I moved from Trenton Ga. Then today I took a different route and while making a left I cut it a little short in front of, get this, two cops! They never batted an eye and I just kept cruising, thanking God I didn't cause a scene!! Getting tricky out there, gotta watch every thing I do. Be safe folks.....

No my order status is awaiting fulfillment. I ordered a couple of short wire extensions with it. I hope the $10 wires are not holding it up. I will have to shoot off an email.

then enjoy is your controller set up for 50 amps?

No I only have a vanilla BBSHD but that may change soon. It shipped yesterday so I should see it soon. With my 11 amp hour slim line added in I should have no less than a 75 mile range. No more range anxiety.

C20 dude I am getting stoked you are almost in battery heaven
I am thinking about getting another 52v 24ah battery and run them together for 106v
                              Tank bag style

                                Update : 51017
Dudes greetings just a little up date on how the mighty Edge 2600w DD with the Luna Big battery is doing.
Tried something different today went off road the wife's big idea, travelled 6 miles very gnarly much worse than a off road mountain bike chores
very muddy very bumpy jolt your inners out stuff, steep wet climbs path was full of holes and logs the mud at times was soupy.
Not much fun for me with a mountain bike with Hook Worms on it but the wife likes to see If I can ride other than on the asphalt at 65 years old.

The bike performed power wise very well on mode 3 it was un useable mode 2 a little better but not much still to much power
                                mode 1 seemed to work.
But I noticed that the controller was getting very warm I believe it is because of how the controller is set up
even on mode 1 low power it is still reading on the CA 50.1 amps, it is limited to 50 amps and it is getting it all.
I have not even set it up to receive the 70 amps burst it already wants to lift the front end and in mud it will spin the rear tire.

I tried to adjust the perimeters on the controller but it would not accept my inputs and customer service from the vendor is not their
I have tried 3 times with no help,
I don't mind that I will just change where I spend money and move on
But what concerns me is the 12 fett that was recommended It just is not enough for this Battery, Make no mistake about it gentlemen the Luna 52v 24ah is the Bomb accept no substitutes.
SO I will find a 24 fett sine wave that I can program the way I want and see what that does
I am also asking Luna if they can make me a 72v 33ah triangle out of the same cells as the 52v 24ah it would be a 20s 10p set up
That will probably be the next evolution along with a controller that can handle it
from what I have seen and read the little Edge 1500w will handle 4500w I know it handles 2600w no problem
I love the set up and with a few more tweaks it should be even more awesome
                                Cheers to all Ole Billy
