I got the battery yesterday about noon. I went straight to the barn to mount it. I used the free triangle bag and some 2 foot wire ties that power grid workers use. The wire ties support the battery inside the bag so I shouldn't have a bag failure. The bottom rear of the bag rests on my upside down BBSHD and I cut up a water bottle bracket to locate the bottom of the bag laterally. Three point suspension.

Today is cold and rainy. Tomorrow will be cold but there is a hike and bike in town on the path that borders my farm and the hike part is on a neighboring farm. I will do the bike part but not the hike. I am not fond of hiking or the wood ticks. Then it will start raining Saturday afternoon and turn into pouring on Sunday. Monday will be bleah but Tuesday things should finally turn around here. I will head out west of Providence to a path I haven't tried. It should be a few degrees warmer out there, mid 70s. The path is also 20 miles one way so I will try the longest trip on the bike yet. I will have to find a lunch stop at the half way point and then stop at Somerset Creamery for the first time this year. If the weather hold I will visit a different path every day next week I can't wait.

    Update: 51717
Just some thoughts on the Edge with the Luna 52v 24ah battery
This is a awesome set up for performance and distance
The only draw back that I can see is the recommended sine wave controller 12 fett It gets warm to a little hot when pushing
the 50 amps continuous that the luna Battery puts out
I have made a few changes I removed the controller from the bag and placed it out in the open air
I will see if that helps if not there is a 18 fett version of this controller that I might try
Don't get me wrong under normal riding conditions it is ok but when you set it on hi mode and push the 2600w that the battery will do
it warms up too quick for my taste so I will try this new set up and see what's up
yesterday did a 54+ mile run all motor and it had battery to spare when I got back
I love the motor but I am totally impressed with the battery
any one wanting this kind of performance and distance this set up is well worth the dough
about $1500 for the gear to get it done Motor/battery/controller/throttle/cycle analyst
    Cheers Billy.

Nothing wrong with my old 17-Ah pack, but...just ordered a 24-Ah to see what all the fuss is about...

here is some notes from last ride
Update: The awesome Luna mighty 52v 24ah GA triangle Battery
Today is the day That I have been waiting for, really happened by chance I had some spare time and great weather 84 Deg.
went for the long ride to check out the system the results
Total distance 54.3 miles all motor no peddling
        top speed 35.6 MPH
        average speed 11.7
when I left battery at 58.7V
when I returned battery at 50.6
        used 8.1 V and 17.4 ah
        WH per Mile 17.1
        Pulled 50.14 max amps
The set up performed perfect lots of hills and stop and go traffic
This battery is the bomb and the awesome edge 2600W DD no noise no gears to shift the sine wave programmable controller is sweet also
I think it could do better with a 24 fett set up instead of the 12 fett that I am running the controller is wasting energy in the form of heat
        cheers Billy

If you want to experiment, try the 18-FET. The Cyclone is tiny, but not sine wave, so a little more "buzzy" during acceleration. The scooter 18-FET controllers might be sine wave, but very large.

the ideal controller for this motor is the 9 X 9 tiny layout of the Cyclone controller, but with 3077 FETs, and a sine wave control chip. No nobody makes that combo yet...

Could you solder 3077's to that cyclone controller?

You read my mind! (Plugs-in 100W soldering iron with a fat tip, and laughs maniacally while rubbing hands together)

Years ago we used to get walkie talkies performing better by inserting better specked transistors. When I look at a FET I see a specialized transistor or diode. They aren't integrated circuits.

So do you know of a good sine wave controller that doesn't have 3077 fets?

This is the controller that I am thinking about trying if my 12 fett wont stay cool mounted outside the bag

I just ordered an edge from ERT. It already has a 26" wheel laced to it. So the plan now is to swap the BBSHD to the fat bike. It is going to rain for the next 4 days so I shouldn't lose any riding time. Then I will install the edge on my regular cruiser.

I just read spinnngmagnet's article on controllers, batteries, and FETs. http://www.electricbike.com/52v-battery-3077-fet/ The 3077 FETs run cooler but should be limited to 63 volts or they are great for our 52 volt batteries.

I need a controller now with 3077 FETs that will run 50 or 60 amps and a few places are out of stock because this is the season. Does anyone know about this guy or this controller. He sells on eBay out of Washington State. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272627479577...577&rmvSB=true Grin has a 40 amp controller and a 50amp phaserunner that is $300. Any opinions on those..............calfee

Over on the Fast Electric Bike Facebook page there is a guy named Mike QS motor Moser who uses Sunwin brand controllers in his builds. He is also on here as Ebike1, I'd give him a shout to find out where he gets them. Hope this helps, ride on safe guys

ID:	36007 C-20 whats up dude are you living on the Edge yet whats up with the battery
Spinning Magnets did you get the Big battery yet and if so has it changed your life
I've just been commissioned to build a ICE trike for a 70 year old lady who is handicapped
I am trying to get Alan to lace a 20 inch wheel on the Edge for the motor
We are going to use the Luna 48v GA cube for the battery
and the 3000w ERT controller should be a great trike
                      Cheers Dudes Bill.

ERT is out of stock of most everything. Oh and what are you trying to do, kill that old lady. Put an edge on a 20" wheel and that trike will be a drag racer.

C-20 Her and her husband said that they wanted something Reliable that would go at least 25 miles distance
speed not important so I figured the edge set up that I have but with the 48v 10ah GA would get it done
and they have approved a $1200 budget

I'd recommend getting a pack that is a little larger than 10-Ah. It will help longevity by putting less stress on each cell, plus every new rider appreciates more range after they begin riding. I know budgets can be a sensitive subject, but...no matter what vendor, a bigger pack is a huge benefit.

new 24-Ah pack arrived, hope to charge up and test this weekend.

edit: grand kids visiting, no time for projects right now, maybe next week?

Battery is great no sign of the edge. I should email them.
