    faster hub motor acceleration

    i have a 20"fat tire bike 1000w 48v hub motor setup which i need to have faster acceleration. what do i needs, more voltage? different controller?

    Hi cdowhie,

    I believe more torque or acceleration would be more related to current. And top end speed more toward voltage. Tho often an increase in battery capacity and voltage is taken in order to increase current.

    Is your controller programmable? If so an increase to your systems rated maximum current (~19 amps) and phase current to say about 50 amps may help. This is if your battery can produce such output. Your smaller wheel size is a plus.


    Giving your components particulars may help to point out a potential bottle neck...
