The hall sensor is an electronic switch, on or off. All three work the same and as such their electrical properties (type) should match if your thinking of replacement. As such you can move the sensors themselves to any slot.

But their positions also correspond to which phase(s) of the motor's windings are in a certain position. ( 3 hall sensors, 3 motor phase winding) Which is given to the controller by it's associated wire and how it's sequenced into it. This allows the controller to operate by energizing the correct windings at precise times to make the motor spin.

Is this to do with an error 07? ;-)

Does each one of the hall sensors have a particular purpose ? In otherwords do I have to get a specific or will anyone hall sensor work. There are 3 on my hub motor and does it have to be specific for the alot it its in or will one work in any of the 3 slots?

    Hi EbikesRfun,

A typical often used and recommended part would be the Honeywell SS41F. Another well known model for motor hall sensor use is the SS411A.

    Hall sensor replacement

My 1500 watt NBPower direct drive hub motor needs to have a hall sensor replaced. The sensor appears to be 613806. I can't locate any sensors with that number. What should I use?
Working...
