    Crystilyte Cruise control swap ..

Hello All ... I read about this somewhere ..want to try it on my Magic Pie 5 Vector .. Amazingly I found the switch and it was delivered today ... What I need is the 4 pin plug that the MP5 uses for the cruise switch ... I don't want to chop my original just in case .. Can anyone suggest where to get this plug ? don't really want to buy another whole switch to get this plug ..$30 .. All I can find is Golden Motors calls it a "Military Grade " Waterproof Plug ... Thought it was the same as the throttle which I have an extra of ...but ..the throttle is a 5 pin plug .

Thank You for Any Suggestions ...

    Hi Don,

Happy to see that you found one. Although I'm afraid it may be a bit harder to wire in than you may expect... :-/

Here is the excellent review by ncmired that gives insight on how it works and wiring for a Bafang.
    https://electricbike.com/forum/forum...-adjustability

    Overview...

The MP5 cruise is an internal controller circuitry function. That is activated, by having the "cruise" signal (provided by the controller) temporarily grounded to battery negative when the cruise button is pushed.

By contrast. The Crystilyte Cruise control maintains desired speed by acting as a throttle input source.

The two types of control are not compatible or the same. So, your desire to connect or in effect wire into the cruise connector will not work. As you will see by studying ncmired's thread, is the requirement to tap into 4 wires...

    Red To throttle power +5V
    Black To throttle ground
    Green To throttle signal
    White To ebrake signal

These pictures will help you to know where you need to wire that controller in...

Since the wires you need to connect too, come from 2 different T4 connectors, and not necessarily the one you're looking at now. A change of plan is required.

Whilst I have you here... in regard to your Pie's front-end miss-alignment issue...

    You mentioned a couple times that it's a 130mm drop-out. I thought a true MP5 front motor mounted Pie are 100mm...
Are your dimensions correct? Has your front fork always been that wide, or could it have been bent outwards to except the wider Pie? Perhaps bending one side further than the other?

    Regards,
    T.C.

Where did you find it, I've been wanting to get one? Just curious though, doesn't the MP Vector already have cruise?
