Most are *very* easy to pick - all the ones I have come across are only two tumblers and can be picked with very basic tools in literally seconds and I'm only somewhat adept at lockpicking

Want to update you here... I just took a thick paper clip as a pick with a little 45 degree angle on the end, and a sliver of metal from a pen cap and picked that lock open after about 3 minutes of YouTube watching here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2r07NN21vM

Thanks for the suggestion! Never tried to pick a lock in my life.

Thanks in advance! I'll pay for all the trouble and copying/mailing of course.
I've got a "D001" for my Shark pack. Looks like it a letter as well as a number.

I don't see a letter designation but I'll post a picture down below. If you think it looks similar and it's not too much hassle I'd love to try the key.

As suggested by AZguy up there, I just picked the lock with no skills and 3m of YouTube watching using a paperclip and a piece of metal from a pen cap. Crazy. Great suggestion that just saved me a lot of grief.

I'd love to someday be able to lock that thing with a key again.
Below is my lock. I don't see a letter designation. If anyone has the same lock code and would be willing to send me a key, please let me know, I'll get it copied and send it back or follow whatever protocol you prefer.

    Thanks again.

abrightmd, mine definitely has a D in front of the numbers. I checked my other pack and it has a letter in front as well. They also have a spring gate that covers the key slot. Must be different lock types. Sorry.

From your note above, it looks like you were able to pick the lock. Good for you!

Decades ago I was traveling in CA and some buddies wanted to go out shooting and my gun was all legal and locked in a box with one of those master tumbler padlocks but I had forgotten the key... Asked my buddy to see if his sis or ma had some hair pins and amazed them when I opened the lock in about two seconds - took me longer to bend the hair pins... they accused me of faking it so I locked it again and showed them it was real Click image for larger version

It's a good skill to have... When I was out with my real estate guy last summer looking for shops he couldn't get into one of them and he asked me if I could pick locks... I sort of hmm'ed and haw'ed, said I might have seen it once or twice... he pulled out a lock pick set and I couldn't resist at that point... opened it in about five seconds... didn't move into that spot but if I had I would have replaced those locks!
