Charging with a 12 volt car battery

I've charged many times from my 4x4 with an inverter and off -the-shelf 120VAC charger.
The challenge is that even a 2A charger you need at least 10A into the inverter and that's too high for most cig adapters / inverters. Best to hardwire (fused of course!) an oversized inverter (200W? I don't remember what I put int he 4x4). I have several high load electrics in the 4x4 (a radio station that uses 30A for one!) wired this way. The battery in the 4x4 is an AGM that is designed to be a good cold cranker but specifically provides for deep-discharge, expensive but in AZ lucky to get two years off a flooded cell and I've got six on this one so in the end it's likely less expensive...
YMMV

Anyone have any experience with this. I want to use my 52v luna smart charger with a inverter to draw off two 12v batteries on my rv when I'm camping. I have a 52v 13.5 ga shark pack. Curious to know and potential issues or experiences.

Charging with a 12 volt car battery
Is it possible and safe to charge my 52 volt 12 ah battery using the cigarette lighter port and an inverter in my car? We have the BBSHD installed in our tandem bicycle and when we travel it goes with us.Tags: None
