Do I need to do any extra waterproofing before taking the X1 out in the rain? Or is it water-resistant?
Is it true the Bafang M600 is already IP65? Does the Ludicrous mod keep the seals intact?
Is there a water resistance rating on the battery pack? If so, what is it?
What about the display, throttle and other buttons? Are they ok in the rain?

I don't know about IP65 but yes ludi has seals and the ludi controllers are potted just like the stock ones. Generally speaking the other components should be as water resistant as your average ebike kit. Maybe a bit moreso for the display than is typical. I have not heard any issues that happened after taking one out in the rain, but it is a new product so your mileage may vary. For general advice on keeping things in mind regarding water you may want to check out this link https://www.electricbike.com/water-p...uble-shooting/

That's good to know the motor is potted. What about the battery? Luna didn't make the battery for the x1, correct?
Do you nevertheless know if it is potted or given sufficient water proofing?

The battery is made in China. Standard construction, spotwelded cells, kapton tape, probably some of that cardboard paper type stuff you usually see in shark/dolphin/bottle, and the case itself which is the main protection against water. Same basic stuff you would find in the construction of a shark pack or any number of other factory bikes including those made by prodeco, bosch, trek and so on.
I wouldn't go throwing the thing into the ocean like you could do with our Wolf battery but it should be fine for daily use. You could add a bit of dielectric grease to the discharge contacts if you wanted to enhance it a bit. Probably would be good to make sure you cover the charge port when not charging too, but again, nothing unusual about any of that.

Hi Guys, I placed an order for a Ludi version that's not delivered yet. I was wondering if when I decided that Ludi is not for me down the line can I simply buy a stock controller from luna and have the standard power?

You cannot change controllers without it being programmed to the motor. I had a ludicrous and didn’t like the jerkyness of the controller. I took the motor to Luna and they replaced the shunts back to stock. I feel the bike is much smoother but you obviously loose half the power. Now my BBS02 has more power than the M600. If I could have programmed the controller to my liking I could have made the ludicrous version work for me. But no chance of programming that controller. Luna can’t even program it, everybody is locked out.

Actually I would have waited and not purchased. I feel like I was decieved.
I do really like the bike but the programming is far from perfect and the one thing we can't make even a little better..

Hey Paxtana I am a little confused this is not what I was told... Right now they said there is no solution? Maybe I am wrong if you can confirm. Because what I was asking is for my ludi optioned bike if I could also get a spare controller with it that's stock and not ludi so I can swap them and have a spare..Reason being my bikes still with Luna has not shipped so I figured this is the best time to do it instead of having to ship my motor back. But I was told its not possible right now or if at all...I actually hope I am wrong.

ppanda Yes that was me you were speaking with. Well, for a portion of it anyway.
The motor is serviceable by Luna, and we would fix it if something goes wrong, but it is not something that is meant to be parted out like BBSHD. Not really a question of serviceability that an end user can not buy extra motor components of something that is not intended to be parted out, it is tightly integrated by design, and for what it's worth it is looking like this approach may confer some advantages in durability to the motor.
Anyway like I said if you run into an issue we can fix it, but if you want a motor that was designed for parting out and high customization then you probably want one of our other models. We have many high performance bikes that would fit the bill nicely, including our Stance 2 full suspension bike and several of our hardtail MTBs. Also our Apollo, which uses Bafang Ultra. That is probably the closest you can get to this bike in terms of component quality while still retaining ability to do various tweaks to the programming, since you can still use the Bafang configuration tool with Ultra. The Stance 2 would also be a great option, it uses BBSHD which is highly configurable.
