Can anyone help me find a replacement for this suspension nut and bolt. Luna told me to go to local bike shop and/or hardware store. It is not available and he said they don't stock it. Bike is 2 months old. Several issues and very poor support from Luna.

This has been a bit of a nightmare.
Luna said they can "pull one off a new bike for $35". I'm not concerned about the money, but the bike is only two months old and although not in the "manual" I have torqued the suspension bolts 2x's since purchase. However, I did not remove and re-loctite the bolts. By just checking torque, I might have broken the loctite bond and that might have been the cause of loss.
I have since removed, cleaned, and loctited all suspension fasteners.
However, my biggest concern is the lack of support from Luna. There are very few specialty proprietary items on this bike: the rear suspension triangle and their fasteners, spacers and bearings. I contacted both Luna and Dengfu Bikes (their manufacture in China) Luna does not stock and Dengfu will not sell unless you buy the entire frame set.
I have asked Luna several times for pricing of a complete set of fasteners, but they have yet to respond to that request.

Hey we're going to get that payment refunded to you and ship the bolt free of charge. Mechanic was unaware it was such a new bike and looks like the agent just sort of went along with the suggested cost rather than taking that into consideration.

Love my X-1 Ludi, the bike is a beast. They only thing I have done is upgrade the brakes to Shimano XT ZEE and changed to a 38 tooth crank ring.

Now for the bad news, today at 1329 total miles, 4 of the teeth on the silent gear stripped off, leaving the bike somewhat stranded, with the bike turned off I could pedal it (what a work out) to get back to the truck. I ride steep hilly train of Sycamore canyon in So Cal. with the bike mainly on step 5 of 9.

Any others have a similar failure? Also how do I order another 'silent gear'?

Took about a week to get the new gears. Luna did warranty and replace the PEEK gear. For $35.00 I got them to send the steel gear as well. Now with a 150 miles on the steel gear it is much quieter. Not as quite as the peek gear but much improved, which is a good thing, a first I hated how much gear noise was coming out of the bike, now not bad at all.

The latest issue I have is a bent upper shock bolt. It's not common hardware so I'll be opening another ticket to see if they have any.

After seeing you loose that bolt decided to check mine today. The nut on the inside of the frame had come off and friction was the only thing holding the bolt in place. Would not be good to have it come out on a ledge trail. Had a machinist buddy of mine fabricate a new nut and thread the inside of the bolt for additional protection. It appeared there was loctite on the nut but may have had lube on it preventing thread lock.

You will love your new bike. 1500 miles on my X1 with no chain or gear problems. Just remember not to shift under full power and be in the correct gear before going up a steep hill. Check and recheck all the bolt torques when your first get it and after a few rides.

Just ride it like a regular bike
The torque sensor can sense when you back off the power before you shift

+1 for no Ludi, I have a Ludi with the “silent” gear and I’m basically stuck in PAS 3/5 which is way too powerful. 2/5 would be workable with clipless pedals, but loud (motor on/off with every crank cycle) with flat pedals. My partner has a Niner RIP e9 with the Bosch CX, and it’s plenty powerful and much smoother then my Ludi X1. I’ve put about 1k miles on the X1, I love it, but I would prefer it if PAS 3 wasn’t doing ALL the work for me or if PAS =<2 wouldn’t power cycle on/off when using flat pedals and make all that spin-down noise.

Glad to see it wasn't a catastrophic failure and you have a fix. Sounds like loctite is a good idea, and as you mention, the threads need to be clean and dry - definitely no oil or grease.

I don't see it mentioned a lot, but a primer is also recommended as 'best practice' when working with aluminum parts or the aluminum/steel junction we often see on bikes. ...or at least be sure to use one of the specific 'primerless' products.

I've heard great things about the trails in the Asheville, NC area but haven't ridden there yet. We've got a lot of really fun riding out in the Pacific Northwest (Bend area) but the vast majority of single track trails on National Forrest lands in my area not open to E-bikes. So I end up riding a lot of technical motorcycle trails or trails that are so remote and rough that few mountain bikers ever bother to ride them. The X1 has been a lot of fun on these trails, but getting the power under control in the super sketchy sections has been a challenge. I got a good tip from a guy who bought this bike direct from the Chinese factory about using the throttle to over ride the torque sensor much like you would feather the brake level to cut power while boulder crawling - but it's very tricky since it's very hard to apply the slightest amount of throttle to cut power and it's easy to slip up and accidentally provide too much power via the throttle.

It's no different than any other geared bike with a derailleur
You have to back off the power with your legs to get a nice smooth shift

Have you ever tried to shift a mountain bike on a steep up hill without backing off the power for a second during the shift?

Same issue with my bike at 322 miles in , probably 22 of those miles gentle offtrail since I am a beginner, the rest of the miles on a groomed bike path. Noticed wheel had slight wobble before ride, then saw bolt was hanging half way out, so saved bolt, but lost matching nut. I believe this could have led to a serious accident. Blue loctite covers the threads, but it evidently isnt enough. Everyone should be aware of this issue !
