Any X-1 riders 5'5"? I'm wondering how the small size frame works for them. Is there enough standover for a 28" inseam?

Is there a torque spec on the motor mounts? I noticed a slight "knock" when pedaling on a ride this morning. My first thought was loose crank, but they're tight. I found a little "rocking" motion in the motor side to side. It's very slight, but during weight transfer when pedaling I could just barely feel it. I pulled the cover off and can see the bolts (5mm hex on one side and standard 13mm nuts on the other). I kind of crept up on the other bolts to 15 Nm and they didn't budge. I don't want to go much further without a torque figure in mind.Comment

Yeah, when I put it on the stand and removed the pedals, I could see the motor rock a bit when I push/pulled on the crank arms torsionally. The top one of the three motor mounting bolts was a little loose. I torqued it to 15 Nm and it no longer rocks at all. No strange noises when I tightened it, so I think everything is intact. Just some loose hardware. I think it’s fine.

are there any options for replacement display? It's hard to see the readout with sunglasses, the small numbers are almost impossible, Is there a way to change the speedo readout out for power or any of the other stats?Comment

I noticed I cannot read the display with my sunglasses. The problem is the polarization is in the opposite direction as the polarization of my sunglasses. Looking down all I see is black, turn my head sideways and I can see the display clearly. I need a different display or Bafang needs to change the direction of the polarization.

Does Luna have the software to make programming alterations to the M600? I think a little tweaking would make this bike perform much better, I think the throttle power level should be adjustable independent of the PAS also the power should drop off much sooner after the pedal stops, in the higher settings the power continues way to long. I understand Bafang has a new controller software for the M620 that addresses these problems so it can be done.Comment

OK, so took my X-1 for it's first ride after work tonight. After charging up my batteries for my helmet light and mounting a handlebar light, I met my buddies and they helped me set sag on the rear rear shock. I was able to easily keep up and pass them at will on the hill climb portion. It handled the downhills much better than my GT Helion Carbon Pro, it is far more stable. I did notice 2 things that I might need to deal with. The first is the battery would rattle inside the frame. You can take your finger and push it in about 1/8" and then it drops back to the original position. Is there something I should do to tighten the battery up in the frame? I actually noticed it before I left and I put a bunch of long zip ties in my pack in case it got really bad, by the end of the 6 mile ride it was making quite of bit of noise rattling around in the frame, about as loud as the motor. On a related note, when I got home I pulled the battery out to bring inside so it is not in freezing conditions. When I did that I noticed mud and water on the inside of the cavity where the battery sits. I would have thought there would be a seal around the opening? What happens if water gets on the battery contacts??? How should I clean the muck out of there? I take it a hose on the contacts is not recommended????
The other is the dropper post did just that, as another user experienced, the dropper post would droop down as you rode. I will have to pull the post out and adjust the cable on the bottom of the post, I just wish I could remember what youtube channel I saw that on.
BTW, we did about 6 miles., probably 600 or 700 feet of climbing and I still had 85% battery when done, I was trying to use as little boost as possible, I was trying to stick to lower gears and using settings 2 (of 5) on the steep part of the climb, with the occasional 3 or 4 if I wanted to see what it would do. This thing absolutely flies up hills! 5 almost seems too much sometimes, several times I ran into the back tire of my friend because it keeps pulling even after you stop pedaling.Comment

I have the same concern about the motor continuing to pull after the pedals stop. I understand Bafang has addressed this on the M620 and has made changes to fix it, maybe Luna can make some programing changes to fix th M600??Originally posted by 350XC-F View PostComment

Hi All! I received my X1 yesterday and assembled it. I have to say... it is amazing. I think that Luna really nailed it and I now count myself as a new Luna fan.
1. One item to note for my fellow Canadians is that I had to arrange for a customs broker to help with the clearance of the shipment through customs and into Canada. It was about $290 (CAN) which included the brokerage fee and applicable Canadian tax’s. I used FedEx Trade Networks as it was the easiest for me.
2. On another point…..one thing that I am looking for but cannot seem to find is a guide to the tool kit that was shipped with the X1. I looked through the Lunacycle Knowledge Base section of the forum but did not see anything (I could have missed it). Therefore, I am hoping someone can provide me a link to a source of information that explains what all of the tools are used for. I have the breakdown of what is included in the tool kit, I just don’t know how to use most of the tools… yet.
3. I was also wondering about the rubber flap covering the battery on/off and charge port. It is face down towards the front tire. If the rubber flap gets damaged somehow and losses rigor and starts to drop open, can the rubber flap be replaced?

Did Anyone on here get the optional light from Luna? I didn't order it due to the price, as I was already blowing out my toy budget for the year! Due to my situation it looks like night rides will be the only time I'll be able to ride for a while. I've read on the controller manual that there is a "Auto Light" function on the bike that I assume controls the light. This would leave me to believe there is a connector somewhere that I could plug my bike light into but I have yet to find it! It would be wonderful if someone could chime in where it is so I don't have to carry around a bunch of crappy amazon batteries like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K31VBLY...v_ov_lig_dp_it while cheap, the chargers are junk and for that price the chance that the cells are junk is pretty high.Comment

Unfortunately, the auto light function is less exciting than it looks. My understanding is the display has various levels of backlighting, and it will automatically adjust the brightness to suit the ambient light, similar to how your smartphone screen can dim itself. The only advantage to buying the light from Luna is that they tapped into the bike’s battery to power the light, and they internally routed the wires to the top. There are some great bike lights that come with their own decent quality rechargeable battery.

My bike had quite the journey: El Segundo -> Denver -> Boise -> Salt Lake City -> Denver. It was finally delivered to me this afternoon. Fortunately the box survived pretty much intact. Assembly went fairly smoothly. The fork was backwards, but that was an easy fix, and most of the bolts were appropriately tight. Took her out for a ride before adjusting the suspension but was impressed with the power. She hand;ed the hills here without any trouble. I had to stick to roads due to the mud recent snow and freezing rain, but hope to hit the trails this weekend. I adjusted the rear shock when I got home but still need to tweak the fork. I also will need to do the dropper adjustment. The box and invoice say it has the ludicrous upgrade but I'll hook up a watt meter this weekend. I may also try packing more grease around the gears.
I do have a shock related question. I didn't see addressed earlier.
There were two plastic pieces labeled Rock Shox which are volume spacers. Has anybody needed to install these?

Hi guys question regarding the X1, prior to purchase I have some questions and concerns that none of the review videos addressed. The battery pack and its location relative to the front tire and water/contamination going into the battery pack location. It seems like the pack connects to the motor terminals at the very bottom... wouldn't this be an issue as water gets sprayed onto the pack/frame by the front tire eventually trickling down to the connectors and shorting it out? Or is the pack sealed into the frame once installed?Comment

Just received my medium size X1. Box was undamaged and bike was well packed. Assembly was easy although in the process I noticed that the front rotor was warped from improper packaging. Was able to true the rotor by slight bending and checking. Issue with the plug under display coming loose multiple times and causing an error message on display. The wire on the plug that comes through the frame is too short when handlebars are turned to the left and causes the plug to come out. The seat post dropper looses air and will need correction. The speedometer on the display is incorrect and doesn’t appear to be a way to correct on the display.
Love the looks and ride of the bike. The motor is much louder than my BBSHD bike and does not seem as powerful.
Sound level has dropped slightly as I ride it more. Hope they find a way to correct the MPH error. All the other problems are livable.Comment

Second ride, first longer one. The bike is awesome! I did notice the rubber flap covering the charge port seems to slip open here and there (I'm trying to think of a way to stop this) and, like others have noted, the dropper seat lowers under my body weight.
Also I'm trying to adjust the rear suspension but can't seem to get it stiff enough. The sag is over 20% when I sit on it (I'm 63 kilos / 140 lbs), tried to pump it up a bit but did not seem to help. I might need to buy a better air pump.
Overall, I still would recommend the bike! It's fun to ride.

You might already know this, but you have to use a special shock pump capable of high PSI. A normal tire pump isn’t strong enough to achieve the pressure required. Generally, you set the rear shock to around your weight, so you need a pump capable of at least 150PSI, but any decent quality shock pump should go much higher.
