Range is as advertised. Full charge. 15 miles PAS3 99% OF TIME. 75% BATTERY LEFT BASED ON VOLTAGE CHARTS. I WOULD EXPECT 40 MILES OF USABLE RANGE IF PEDDLING
How's the road noise on these compared to the stock tires?
I took the stock tires to the beach and they weren't any good for dry sand. The tires would just dig a hole and get no traction, so had to walk the bike with throttle.
I'm debating between the Mission Command, E-Huntsman, or Super73 BDGR tires (also made by Vee Tires).
I am getting only a 20 mph top speed. No matter the charge maybe 21 on a full charge but this is underwhelming when it was indicated this bike could go 25. I'm currently measuring using a phone Gps speedometer. But from my experience it's not 25mph.
A lot goes into mph. My bike out of the box had a lot of rolling resistance due to the brakes rubbing. Once that was addressed I was able to do 25.6 consistently. After that I put on different tires. Top speed was then down to 23mph. I added a front basket, adjusted suspension to my ride liking, and added a bike lock. Now it seems 20mph is the norm for my bike. Also, your weight, wind, etc. will all factor in as well. I am 168lbs just for reference. Yeah, I'd like a bit more speed too so if you find something that gets you that extra let me know!
I bought the bike( my first ebike but 20th regular bike) for exercise not top speed. I can get an hour of riding and feel like it’s ok to skip the Covid rich gym.
I bought mine to commute to work 12 miles and also to ride trails with my son. Coming from a motorcycle background, so top speed is important to. me. Granted, I know this isn't a motorcycle or motorcycle replacement, I'm just accustomed to going fast.

There is a noticeable difference, but it doesn't seem that bad. I do alot of offroading (SXS) and camping so I needed some tires that would work well in dirt as well as pavement. I'm really happy with the Mission Commands.
Ideally a quick release would help. I am almost thinking a car rack at this point. It’s a big bike!
I bought a cheap motorcycle carrier that's hitch mounted over the weekend. Unfortunately I had to return it as it was so unstable I wouldn't trust a 55lb ebike on it, let alone a 400lb motorcycle! This was a harbor freight model, stay away from those!
I am upgrading the 500w hub motor to a true 1000w hub motor. Can you tell me what power controller is installed on the bike? I'm hoping to just do a plug and play since they look like they run on the same plug... but I wanted to make sure.
The label on the motor is meaningless, that would be a lot of work for zero gain in power or torque.
I don't think bafang even makes a geared fat hub that explicitly has 1000w on the label so it would be very unlikely you would have same plugs, and even if the plug matched there is no standardization so you would probably have to cut back the connectors and match halls wiring through trial and error, there's dozens of potential combinations so it is a bit daunting but there is a guide on endless sphere if you are really dedicated to doing this.
Like I said I don't see the point though, at best the motor would be heavier and in theory the increased mass would make it more able to take higher current without overheating, but since nobody has reported this motor as overheating with the stock power level there would be no point unless you were also overvolting the bike or running a higher current aftermarket controller.
I think that should be fine. If you are lugging the motor to the extent that it cannot move, then you probably are overloading it, but other than that it's probably okay. Keep in mind that all electric motors like to run at high RPM, if there is something preventing it from running at that speed, the power ends up getting turned into heat. This motor has a planetary geared system inside of it so the motor itself can run faster than the wheel is running which helps quite a bit, but if it is loaded to such an extent that it can't move, all that power will turn into heat and that is no bueno
Broke my second kickstand!! I was showing a friend the bike when he gave it a little throttle and lifted the front end off the ground about 6 inches (just standing by the bike no one was on it) and when it came down it snapped the kickstand! Seriously, I've had bikes as well as motorcycles for 40+ years and never broke a single kickstand before this bike. In the V2 you might wanna consider using a quality kickstand.
The factory is not using that model for the kickstand anymore, future production runs will not have it and I believe the incoming production run may not have it either. You were the second person to report this same issue so we wanted to play it safe and make sure the factory does not use it

Can I get one of the better stands or are they just not coming with stands at all?
Showed up today, all the way to Canada! I had to use a third-party broker because Fedex said it'd be weeks/months if they were the broker... but it worked out. Got it in less than 2 weeks from ordering.
PAS SETTINGS NEED IMPROVEMENT.
. I think one and two are under powered.
Three makes you really spin,
four is good for climbing. Am I the only one disappointed with this programming?
