Is there a way to disable the grip throttle? I bought the Eclipse. LOVE IT! But trying to get my wife on it to like it. Getting off it she twisted on the throttle and it about pulled her arm off. Scared her. Yes, I agree that it is just practice to learn how to NOT do that, but as you can tell, once your have your feet on the ground and you even start to twist the throttle accidentally a little bit, the problem only accelerates and gets worse quickly. Any ideas for any solutions to this?

Is there a users manual for the data screen? I know that it seems very straight forward, But I am sure that there is more to it and would be great to have a user manual that explained it all. For example, if you hold down on the down button, the bike starts to move forward with a walking person on the screen? Is this a walking mode??? Also found the dimming mode, only 2 levels? Since I found these modes by just messing around, was wondering if there are any other things to know about/how to do. So a user manual would be good....

That down button was news to me. It actually dangerous. It’s like cranking the throttle. Don’t use this. The programming on this leaves lots to be desired.

One the handlebar grips. Can you take the end off to put a mirror in the hole? It looks like very technical screws, so wasn't sure if I should take them out. Would there be any problems in doing that?

I looked at it and decided not to mess with the silver caps, especially on the throttle side. I am going to add a mirror on my helmet instead. I just had a bike shop say they wouldn’t think it would work and those little screws might be very hard to put back in place

Hold on and up at same time. It’s not intuitive but scroll around. I can’t get mine off military time but not a big deal. SOC and % do not ever register.

Thanks. For me, I had to hold the "M"ode button and the Power button at the same time.

Girlfriend Decorated our bike and now it's a Galactic Edition. Still looking for a good headlight. The rear rack with quick release bag we got is excellent for small grocery trips. What do y'all think.

What is the locking mechanism for the battery and are we able to get the key code for a bike we already ordered?

It's a physical lock that drives a bolt in and out of the frame. There's no key code.

LOL I know there is no key code I am talking about the bitting on the physical key. A lot of ebike locking mechanisms use Abus locks and you can get your bike lock with the same bitting as your ebike. Abus is not the only manufacturer that does this either, those machines that duplicate locks? They use a numbering system for the different pin configurations and if you know those numbers you can manufacture that same exact key even without physically possessing the key. I highly doubt they will be able to provide the code though as it didn't come in the box and I emailed support and they said "I do not believe you can" which, if they don't somehow retain the actual numbers for the keys for each customer, would be correct.

Basically, if they can't get me a replacement key after I lose both keys and didn't send me the code to begin with they probably don't get the code themselves the lock probably comes with the battery or something and if I want one key that opens both my battery lock and my bike lock I will need to replace the cylinder with an Abus one.

Is there any way to make the display removable? I am kind of worried about someone stealing my display.

Reckon you could remove it from the bars and put it in a frame bag or some other way hide it under the frame, but it probably does need to be plugged in to operate the bike.

There is a way to jumper couple wires on BBSxx kit harnesses so it can run displayless, maybe in theory that might be possible here too, but if it is someone would have to figure out how to do it first

One type of theft is to cut the cables and take the handlebars, and also the fork/wheel assembly. Pinhead makes a locking headset bolt (coded key) to help with this. Some people put ball bearings and some kind of sealer in the Allen bolts so tools can't go in them.

I just noticed that my wheel size was set at 24 from the factory. Sine this is a 20” wheel shouldn’t this be set for 20??

No because while the rim is 20", the tires are fat, this increases the overall wheel diameter quite a bit. Similar to how fat tires on a 26" rim makes a wheel that is closer to 29"

FWIW unlike most every other vehicle we are familiar wheel size on bicycles is not the rim diameter and is _supposed_ to represent the outer diameter of the tire... "supposed" to since it only "works" if the tire is the "normal" size for that rim size... fat-tires completely destroy this old world order since they typically have much larger outer diameters than the "normal" tires... e.g my 26x4.8" fat tires are pretty much 29" diameter

Regardless, the settings in most displays/controllers is for the outer diameter of the tire - makes sense since this is what will determine the speed to revolution ratio... although I have other things that actually use the tire circumference for the speed setting which I suppose prevents the potential for confusion...

I am getting 38 miles and have 42% left. PAS3 and only a bit of throttle to move from a stop.

I see you're in FL. That's a nice range and battery capacity. Just remember if you are riding into a 20mph headwind (pretty common near the coast) you will need that extra 42%.

Yeah that’s primarily why I bought the bike because the wind here on the coast is brutal. I got to the point with my old legs it just wasn’t fun riding anymore and now it is again. I’m just getting used to this and trying to prevent range anxiety because peddling even at level two is very hard on this lead sled.

Anyone else have a “creaking” in the head tube when the bars are moved? Is there a good way to lube this away?

We recently made a video for our other full suspension bikes that goes into common areas like pivot points and how to lube them. While this is especially made for carbon frames there is a lot of good information that can be used to address creaks and squeaks on any full sus frame https://youtu.be/4ji1HcwRRfc

Has anyone upgraded pedals yet? I sort of like the folding pedals but don’t think that they buy you much when it comes to folding. I have some nice mountain bike pedals and wondering if anyone has done this.

Is there anyway I can order a new pair of these tires? I can’t find them anywhere and I like em a lot. Btw the rim measures 16.5 inch with a measuring tape lol so ya Speedo is dead on accurate with the wheel size set to 22 inches. I REALLY LOVE THIS BIKE & THE TIRES I CANNOT FIND! LUNA knocked another out of the park with this one!

The video mentions to not touch the Wheel Size setting. What are the reasons for this?

A couple weeks back, before this video was posted, I changed mine to 22" after measuring the tire diameter and it seems the speedometer might be more accurate now (maxes out at the 25mph top speed mentioned in the listing).

Is the Wheel Size setting for metrics/measurements only (speedometer, odometer, trip, etc.)? Or does it also impact certain drive characteristics or something?

Yes the wheel size is going to determine readings for speed and other measurements, if you change it you may not get accurate readings. But if you are preferring to have it on some other number you can, just might not be accurate

Is there a trick for removing the battery? I inserted the key, turned it until I heard a click, but the battery still won't budge from the frame.

Odd, try jiggling the key to turn it further or pull on battery a bit?

Figured it out. The click I heard was just turning the battery on and off. You have to press the key in and keep turning counterclockwise to move it to unlock.
    Working...
