I put a standard bar extension on it. It may not be the best fit, still it raises it up 2 inches which is what I wanted. I ordered up some fenders from Ali Express.

Yes. that is the frame. They look like the fenders I'm looking for as well. great find FreedomBuilder!. I would order them but their site says stocking soon. I hope they are wide cause the badgers are a solid 4.5 and the sidewall lugs should throw some shtuff. I will try contact them monday. did you order or just find em?

Heya. I want to swap the brakes to hydros. Are the tektro’s compatible with the motor cutoffs? Can the cutoffs be omitted?

I won't receive the maguras for a few weeks, so I may change left/right. I never thought about shifting with hands too. that's gotta be getting a lot to do on the handlebars. I don't even use the PAS levels anymore. I'm finding the throttle sensitive enough so I have INFINITE levels of assist with my human sensor, and no surprise bump cause I rotated the pedals a bit.
plus my bike and riding is more cruise around style than serious cross country, downhill and etc.

I tend to use PAS for more steady on terrain that's not varying a ton and throttle for controlling the amount of assist quickly and precisely when the terrain/conditions are more demanding - PAS takes away any wrist strain from the throttle for the periods where it makes sense...

Aah steady terrain... what's that? The boardwalk at the beach on day two of eclipse ownership was the last flat land I've been on. around home at a minimum your either going slightly uphill or slightly down, and then there's the real up and down. never realized the seriousness of the grades till I got something with pedals! using lots of throttle! I did experiment with the pas levels and thought they were pretty good, and i'll use em more when I get to the valley. Not complaining tho.. its 3D landscape, low traffic, lush and green with lots to see.

Absolutely,
I installed a KT-22A controller (waterproof connector version), paired with a KT-LCD7U display. KT controllers must be paired with any KT displays, there are several to choose from. I also installed a KT-V12L Dual Hall 12 Magnet PAS Sensor (waterproof connector) which was not that bad to install. Because the KT-22A controller comes with JULET connector type cables, the Eclipse stock display, throttle, PAS and brake levers (the brake cut off cable connectors) were not compatible. Pretty much the HIGO type cables that come on our Eclipse, had the opposite (male/female) connectors than the JULET connector cables had from the KT controller. I just purchase most parts in a set which I will link below. I have also done a lot of testing with the settings that you have access too within the KT displays, which I can share my parameters with others if needed. The only downside if any, is the KT controller is a little larger than the stock, smaller controller. So it will not fit within the smaller portion of the bike frame. I just mounted mine in a small bag on the frame to where the XT60 connector could reach the Eclipse's power cable.. I will post a few pictures so others can get a idea. The KT controller comes with banana style power plugs, and the Eclipse has a XT60 style connector for its power plug. I have added the needed connector links below as well.
I added a few pictures of everything installed with how the controller may look attached in a bag.

Hope this explains a little more and or helps someone out!
P.S. While I did gain a couple more MPH, I mainly did this for the PAS feature.

I couldn't find any concrete info if this Bafang motor was sensored or not, since its optional for this motor. I did some research to make sure the 9 pin motor plug and the 8 pin 1 to 4 plug matched up as well. I was able to track down how many internal magnets were in the Bafang motor (20 poles), times that by 5 (1:5 ratio) to get my rotation speed setting right within the new display. I know the Kt controller I installed is a sensor less square wave controller, which maybe makes sense why there are so many settings with in the display to correctly figure out and show how fast the wheel is turning, and its current position, if that makes sense. I have been using a gps speed app, and its about 1 mph slower than the what the KT display states. I am still tweaking the settings slightly to dial it in just right.
Can you confirm the Eclipse rear frame drop out size? I want to say 170mm, but not sure. Thank youLast edited by Haven76; 1 week ago.

We'll all want to dial the Eclipse into our own unique preference. The seat post is too short for anyone over 5'10". The power is wonderful, the look is also. I have fenders, lights, and rack on order. What my final set up is, is still to be determined. All in all I'm very impressed with the bike. Would I buy it again, for sure, yes I would.

I fully understand where you are coming from nosarajr, had to to tweak a few things to my liking as well. As for power, I prefer a little bit more. Before I received my Eclipse, my wifes Fiido M21 ebike arrived, that bike let you hold 2 buttons on the display for 5 sec, and it was unlocked to about 28-30mph. Same wattage motor too. At least that option was there if the owner wanted that. Please show us a few pictures of your setup once you get her all done! At the end of the day, I do enjoy the Eclipse very much!

hey guys, i went with a seat post rack. Might not be anything you would like, but pics in my post : thank you luna for eclipse.
I think it's important to be aware that any weight loaded onto the swingarm box frame is UNSPRUNG load on the wheel - Not desireable under most any circumstance. 12 lbs extra (rack + small load) wants to turn the rear wheel into a steamroller.
after working like a fool to get my rack to fit the seat post frame tube, (there's about an inch below the seat clamp,) I was in walymart and saw some inexpensive schwinn racks in black with the same drop angles as my topeak rack. they'd need working but is doable

Pax, help. I need info on Eclipse forks, as pertains to the posts mounting for the calipers and adaptors. Going to mount Magura mt5's with 203 rotors when they arrive from germany.
what brand are the forks? do you know anything about the posts? Magura fitment chart for 203 mm rotor mounting lists numbers like: 6", 7", 8" , and IS. Does IS mean industry standard? or am I being way too simple?
The magura adaptor chart shows direct mount no adaptor for 203mm rotor if front fork is IS. different adaptors for the other numbers.
I think I got the rear frame adaptor I will need figured out according to their chart= especially if there is such a thing as industry standard for frame and fork brake mount locations.
thanks in advance for any info from anyone (that knows what their talkin bout). Would like to order front adaptor so I can install asap. at 210 mi the hills got my oem pads half gone!

The tech at magura told me I need to know what my forks are to figure out what I need.
But best I could come up with is "they are black". I cleverly removed the ugly stickers I couldn't read as soon as I got the bike.Last edited by lectrik al; 18 hours ago.

I would have to check on the brand (likely not one magura would have specs on, it is an oem brand) but am pretty sure it is a regular post mount. IS is an older standard, most modern forks you get these days are post mount. Might be abbreviated PM on their chart.

As an alternative, any local bike shop should be able to help pick out the adapter you need if you bring the bike and the brake.

Not cost effective, but disappointment and waiting should be minimized by the fact I ordered the three available likely candidates from germany.
I will post my results on this brake upgrade in a few weeks after all the parts get here.

Not yet, it can sometimes take a while to hear back from our mechanic, especially since they're moving warehouses right now. If pressed for time you can probably determine just by holding a yardstick up to it, but in any case, as soon as I hear back I'll let you know.

Thank you! Yea I got a rough measurement just at or a tad over 190mm. Was just making sure. I am a little confused with the Bafang motor that the Eclipse has installed. It is showing on the specs sheet being 175mm OLD size, but the Eclipse frame dropout is looking like 190mm. Is this because the Bafang motor is a cassette, and the Gates Belt drive single speed system needs to be used with spacers to make up that extra mm, if that makes sense? I was looking into a bigger motor upgrade kit, but still wanted to use the Gates drive. I know if I purchase a freewheel motor instead of cassette, then I cant use the Gates since it was stated the Gates uses a HG driver with spacers, which works with cassette and not a freewheel motor. This department is where my knowledge is lacking. Maybe someone can help me out with this. Thank you

I went 33 miles, level 2 and pedaled firmly the whole way and showed I used about 1/3 of the battery?

That's awesome. I know it's flat where you ride, but that's impressive to me. What kind of speed were you able to maintain in level 2? and any idea of elapsed time for the 33 mi? Hope I get to take my eclipse to fla sometime soon, got a buddy in daytona
