    Apex Motor swap.

Unfortunately something went wrong and you need to remove it?

    1) Remove the battery
On the top of the battery you have 2 Allen head screws, please use a long (ball head preferably) Allen key to remove the pack

Once the screws out be carefull, you have a XT90s connector in the bottom. Maybe get a second pair of hands or lay the bike on the left side with a pillow to protect that nice battery

Unplug the battery, if you look on at the battery there is a slit down the center and you can see the BMS LED blinking green.

    2) Remove the crank arms

You will need a allen wrench (should have one with the supplied tool kit), Remove both crank arm bolts.

Take your crank puller tool (if yours has only a smaller center you will have to make an adapter for the hollow spindle of the motor.) can be just a couple washers small enough so they fit the crank arm hole but large enough so they wont go in the spindle hole.

Should look like this (not exactly the same model)

Now if yours have that bigger tip (like the one on the pic) just retract the pushing pin and screw the outer ring into the crank arm, so need to be tight, just make sure you have enough threads in. Now take a wrench or a socket and turn the center pin so it will push on the splindle

This video should make easy to understand:

    3) Remove the chainring spyder OR the Chainring

    A) To remove the spider(the adapter that hold the chainring) you will need the Luna torque wrench and deep sockets to remove that black lock ring

There is an arrow on the lockring indicating the direction to tighten the locknut. You need to turn in the opposite direction of the arrow (clockwise to remove).
You cannot use the Luna wrench as it will not grab enough splines and you will not be able to turn it.

Remove the chain from the chainring, the chain tensionner on the Rohloff (if equipped) will give you enough slack to remove it.
Hold the chain ring with glove or a rag and remove that lock ring.
Keep all the parts, only need to send back the motor.

    B) Remove the chainring and leave the adapter in place, you will be able to access the motor mounting bolts.

    4) Remove the motor

You have 3 hex bolts on on the right side of the motor and 3 screw to hold the plastic cover on the other side, start by removing the cover on the left to expose the nuts. Remove the 3 bolts with a wrench holding the nut and a Allen key on the head.

Drop the motor, best to have something under it because it's quite heavy and you dont have to rip any wires out.

You will have 2 connectors (main harness and the speed sensor ) unplug them and pull on the power wires to pass the XT90 through the mounting plate.

To reinstall the motor please follow these steps in reverse
