I can't answer your question as I purchased without the ludicrous upgrade, but I'm very happy with the power potential this bike has.
Power isn't this bikes problem "to me" its how the power is presented. It takes 1/16 -> 1/8 of a crank rotation before the motor begins to help! I can't wheelie over a log nor get help starting up a hill if I'm stopped on it.. And, once rolling, or bookin it down a technical trail then stop peddling the motor continues assisting, which is not good. (This, the main thing I need to adjust,, I can't adjust! This is my beef with this bike). I can only assume ludicrous would amplify these problems!
I ride technical single track hard (for exercise) and ride in power assist 3 and 4. I have not been in assist 5 yet.
My bike is a boat anchor at the moment waiting for a spoke magnet. Luna is top notch on top of it

Well I have a order in on hold currently and I am sure if enough people give their feedback about what they don't like changes will be made. The most crucial aspect of an ebike to me is power delivery and how seamlessly its integrated with the human the magic is in the software and I am sure it will improve over time. For now I think I will hold on till warmer days to get one... but the X1 is a impressive bike from a hardware and cost perspective given the competition.

Well, the power delivery on the X1 is anything but seamless that's why I've been wanking on this forum for a while now. if it's the only ebike you've ever ridden you might think it's great until you ride a new Specialized or other high end bike but those bikes don't have a throttle and they are twice the price. If only Luna cared enough to dial in the program on this M600 we would be so greatful.

I think the power delivery feels great but this also highlights the need for users to be able to program the bikes for their own special needs. I hope someone at Bafang gets this message and provides the end user a way to modify the program settings. If this were an Ultra, all those things would be easily changed on a laptop.

Front brake disc alignment issue.
I couldn't get the front wheel on (yes I installed the spacers).

So I removed the brake pads to try to put it in brakeless, and it seems quite misaligned. I'm not a bike mechanic, but what did I do wrong here?

Looks like more than one of your pics are not showing for some reason. In any case alignment takes just a minute or two. Loosen the two bolts holding the caliper, put the pads back in (make sure you do this first or you will break it) then pull the lever. The pads will auto center as long as the bolts are loose enough for the caliper to move around when you pull the lever. Then tighten the bolts up while still holding that lever and you should be perfectly centered.

I'm a new X1 ludicrous owner and I want to change the front chainring to a 38 but I can't get the stock chainring to come off the spider. I read that the spider doesn't need to be removed, how is it done then?

you don't need to cut it off, just keep turning it untill you find that magic spot, it's kinda like a puzle

Yeah, it took me a while too but you can remove it without removing the spider.

It is possible to remove the 32 tooth sprocket without cutting it off which is what I did. It was like working a “rubics cube” but it is possible. Hard to describe how I did it, but probably just lucky. Play with it for awhile and see if it works for you.

OK thanks, I'll give it another try. I was in a hurry to go for a ride yesterday afternoon before it got dark so I just mounted the 32 back up.

BTW I got it off after trying again. Much better with a 38T chainring.

Check your spokes boys and girls.
I have about 120km or 70 miles on and things were getting a little wobbly..

While truing my spokes I noticed that my front rotor was quite warped. I removed it, put it on a flat surface and it was fine. Put it back on using opposite bolt pattern method and warped.
If the rotor is flat then the hub might be whacked!
Even if I lightly snug up all bolts it wobbles when I spun the wheel. I ran out of time trouble shooting..

Does anyone know where to get an adapter for the X-1 battery to an XT-60 or XT-90 connector?

I'm building a fat tire snow bike with a bbshd and want to use the X-1 battery to power it.

I've seen a picture of an adapter, so they do exist.

If you pull the end cap off, you'll find there's actually an XT-60 connector inside. You sacrifice water ingress protection, but if you're putting the battery inside a bag or something, that might not be a problem.

I upgraded the cockpit on my X1 with new trigger shifter and dropper remote that bolts onto the brake mounts using SRAM match maker system. This allows a clean setup with the throttle on the right side and motor controls on the left.

I love this bike so far. I was installing a Nukeproof stem and carbon bars and I noticed one side of the dropper lever pivot bolt was missing. Does Luna have extras or does anyone know where to get one? If not guess I'll just have to machine one myself.

Too funny, looks like you took advantage of the same deal over the holidays I did on the nuke proof cockpit. Make sure you have enough stack height. I had to swap out the headset spacer for a bigger one

That is funny. I had just deleted the comment because I was just going to upgrade it like you did. I might try the throttle on the left too even though I don't use it much. I did notice that the new stem needed a little taller spacer which I had already.

I only have about 50 miles so far on my large ludicrous X1 and I am enjoying it very much. Luckily I don't have an issue with the display cable (has short extension) or seatpost like some people but I do agree that the power delivery and levels could have been programmed better. My X1 has 5 power assist levels but I really only need level 2 and 3. I think there is too much of an increase in power going from level 2 to 3. There should be 1 or 2 more levels of power between them. I usually use level 2 on flat terrain and slight hills, this level requires about as much effort as pedaling a normal weight mt. bike. Level 3 assists me up pretty much any hill with not that much effort. My bike's power assist also momentarily continues after pedaling stops sometimes which is annoying. I don't use the throttle much but it's nice to have. Hopefully Luna will sell enough of these bikes and be able to develop upgrades to the programming. Sounds like they can't be changed though. I'm still very happy with this bike and I can't wait to take it on some more technical rides. Thanks to everyone posting on this forum, lots of useful information so far. Looking forward to more posts from X1 owners.

I had a hard time deciding between ludicrous or standard but I like the power especially because I am a larger rider (200 lbs.). What you say about the throttle would be nice but you can just press the level up button real quick to get more power assist then bring it back down if you don't need it anymore right? I think the throttle kind of overpowers it already. I still need to ride it a lot more to get used to it though. I guess we have to settle for a little less user friendly PAS for the price we paid. I would like to try riding a new Specialized Levo to compare to the X1. They're almost twice the price though...

I agree with what you said about the power delivery. I hope I can bring my x1 in for future programming updates.

If you have extra cash and looking for an immediate performance upgrade. Invest in some carbon wheels. I just spent last 2 weeks doing my research and ended up buying some locally. Totally worth it, I almost sent myself to my back pulling up off a curb right after installing.

I have done lots of research on wheels for the X1 and I have learned some things I would like to share to maybe help out those looking to do the same. First, I wanted to get a 38-40mm inner rim width. Rim width is huge with mountain tires, it’s a fine balance of rim and tire width. I think the original rim has a 36mm inner width and the tire looks like a ballon in comparison to my new setup. I can visibly see a difference in tire width on the wider rim and expect better traction as an added benefit. I originally thought I wanted 32 spoke hole wheel as opposed to more standard 28 hole but ended up getting a great deal from the below ebay seller locally.

I found two choices one expensive and a bit cheaper from China:

You can kind of see what I am talking about in this picture. See the shadow between the rim and tire tread on the stock rear wheel in comparison to the front carbon wheel.
