Advice on adjusting the derailleur: Posting this here - as I didn’t get any luck as a separate post:
I upgraded my X1 to use a 40T chain ring - and changed the chain to an SRAM 126 - 2 link ( removed two for fit) - after reading articles by other members. (I wanted a bit more speed on urban streets).

I am trying to adjust the derailleur to be able to use all the gears in the cassette. My issue is that to remedy the skipping on the lowest gear, I need to adjust the B screw to increase wrap around the gear. However if I do that to fix the skipping, there is not enough clearance in the second highest gear for the derailleur to clear the cassette and it binds.
As this is my first "nice" bike, I am not an expert, I just wondered if there is any other variable I can be trying to tweak to meet both of these objectives. Any tips?

You may be able to shorten the chain so that the idler pulleys are pulling harder against the cogs
You have to put the chain up onto the largest cog to see how short you can make the chain.

Looking at the dimension chart for the X1, the center-to-center distance between crank and rear wheel, Dimension E, is the same across all frame sizes, so hopefully chain length is a 'one size fits all' dimension.

The only thing I will note is that this seemed to be a very tedious/precise adjustment when I did it. You need to adjust the "B" screw so it 'just' misses the closest cogs - and I mean 'just', as in clearance + 1/8 or 1/4 turn and not much more. The lateral position on the 11T cog also seemed to be important. It seemed like the top gear of the derailleur needs to sit outboard of the cassette cog by 1/2 or less of the derailleur cog tooth width. This kept the chain from trying to climb back up the 13T gear. Again, this is a small fraction of a turn adjustment on the outboard limit screw.

Overall, if you are 'adjusting' by taking more than ~1/8 to 1/4 turn of the screws, you might be over/undershooting your marks and leading to skipping on either side of the 'ideal' adjustment.

Unfortunately, the cheaper SX/NX series derailleurs just don't seem to be able to handle the 12 widely space gears on some bikes. We liked my first Apollo so much that we bought a second, but as part of lowering the price Luna substituted NX for GX and as a result, they had to disable the highest gear (smallest cog). I know another person who bought that same vintage of Apollo and had his bike shop try to adjust it, but it ended up skipping on the small cog.

The fix was to upgrade to GX. We both upgraded the wheels as well to get an XD driver hub so that we could have the 10 tooth small cog. He had an LBS do it and it turned out fine, I did it myself and it turned out fine.

Note that whether you upgrade or not, when it's time to replace your chain, choose the SRAM X01 or XX1 chain. All the "Eagle" components are swappable, and 2 separate tests have shown that these X01 and XX1 chains last far longer than any other chain on the market. They're $60 a pop, but worth it:

DuPont Chain Saver with Teflon is a great lube, but it can be kind of messy when spraying it
That's why I use some cardboard as a back board to catch the over spray

I saw it first on a bunch of motor cycle forums
The motor bike guys like it cause it does not fling off the chain, it's wax based and so it does not attract dirt
And it will not harm the fancy O-Ring chains some of them use

-Any difference between sport and eco modes? None that I can tell. (I don't see equivalent options on the unofficial stock display manual: https://bradland.github.io/unofficia...isplay-manual/)

-Boost mode? This menu option doesn't quite seem to have the same functionality as in the link above. It seems to leave the motor going for a REEEEEAAAAALLLLY long time after pedaling or letting off on the throttle. I know others have said the PAS continues after pedaling ceases, but that hasn't been my experience except when Boost is enabled.

One other note:

-Bike came with highest gear enabled and shifts perfectly. I didn't think this would be the case, but I'm pleasantly surprised.

I can't help with the modes question.
I just leave my 860c on Eco

Luna is now shipping the X1's with the derailleur set to use the 11 tooth cog ?
Wonder what they are doing different?

the stock Luna twist throttle works better than the stock thumb throttle. It can be a bit dangerous if the bike is left "live"

Love my X-1 Ludi, the bike is a beast. They only thing I have done is upgrade the brakes to Shimano XT ZEE and changed to a 38 tooth crank ring.

Now for the bad news, today at 1329 total miles, 4 of the teeth on the silent gear stripped off, leaving the bike somewhat stranded, with the bike turned off I could pedal it (what a work out) to get back to the truck. I ride steep hilly train of Sycamore canyon in So Cal. with the bike mainly on step 5 of 9.

Any others have a similar failure? Also how do I order another 'silent gear'?

No problems with my PEEK gear so far with about 1000 miles on it
