Does anyone know the torque values for the three big bolts holding the motor in? Don't want to crunch the frame just to change the brakes.

Also, anyone has any tips for getting to this third 13mm nut?



None of my sockets can fit in that spot, and there is no room for a regular wrench. Thin-wall socket maybe?

I just tighten the bolts until they are tight enough
I have removed my motor twice and so far no problems coming loose
The nuts are locking nuts if I remember correctly

Use a open end wrench if you do not have a socket that will fit

The bolts are super freaking tight - and I can't get to that nut with either a socket or a wrench, the rest of the motor is in the way. The local hardware store doesn't have a thin wall socket either, bummer.

Maybe I'll call some auto stores, they sometimes have useful tools for tight spaces.

In a less than advised desperation move, I used vice grips. With them on, the nut can't rotate, and if you ratchet up the pressure the nut doesn't even get all that damaged. I can't say this is a good method, but it's something in a pinch. I'm ordering a thin wall socket for next time.

My new x-1 just got a flat rear tire. I can't for the life of me figure out how to break the bead. It almost seems like they are glued on. I have changed plenty of mtb tires and dirt bike tires and this thing has me stumped! They are maxxis minion dhr if that makes a difference. Hot tips anyone or a link to a video?

They are super hard to get off. What worked for me is airing them down completely, and then leaning on the bead with my weight, working around. I did that for a little, and the tire started scooting away from the wall towards the center channel.

On AliExpress there is one with a male and one with a female connector.

I have not seen any confirmed postings about the Ali meters and if they work ok on the X1

If I knew how much of a pain in the ass it was to run lines on this bike I might have lived with the stock brakes bwahaha. But I'm finally in the club.



Day 1 upgrades - Ali express carbon wheels with DT350 hubs, Bomber shock, short Luna cranks, SLX brakes, gripshift, Zitto dropper post lever, an old seat I had lying around.

After a little shakedown, still need to get the drivetrain sorted and nail down some creaks, but very promising. The stock PAS settings are a bit funky like everyone says. Level 2 creates a "chase the bike" feeling because the assist disappears whenever you're not on it, and level 3 is oodles of power wheelieing up the hill sort of boost. I'm going to play around with the 9-level assist, I think. But so far, super fun.

I switched my brakes to Shimano
It was not difficult to do
Removing the motor makes it so you can route the cables and brake lines way easier

I don't think it's even possible without removing the motor. I had to take apart the battery box at the front too, to get the line through the head tube exit hole, and things are super fragile in there. Someone gorilla-armed all those tiny screws in the factory and the plastic was cracked and stressed before I ever got to it.

Anyway, most of this was just me being a noob. Last time I installed a new set of brakes internally routed brakes didn't exist, and I just zip-tied them onto my Turner without ever breaking a line. So this was a whole lot of new stuff done for the first time.

Received my x1 just about 2 weeks ago ... I absolutely love it... still modding it a little to put my touch on it but thought I would share a couple photos.

The stem was easy to replace just be careful not to over tighten the compression plug in the steerer tube...I broke mine and had to buy a new from a local bike shop

My new X-1 makes a “clank” sound once every revolution of the rear wheel but only with the rider on. It happens during coasting downhill or pedaling uphill all the same. It was happening intermittently since I got it a couple of weeks ago but now it’s constant. On top of that every couple minutes it sounds like there is a light metal part is loose. I thought it was my disc brakes but now I took my rear brakes off completely to diagnose the problem and it still happening. Please advise.

Edited: Problem solves! It was actually brake pads on the front wheel. :) I could swear I heard it coming from the rear wheel.

Can you possibly replicate it by hitting throttle while squeezing the rear brake when the bike is on a stand? If so it would probably be a lot easier to pinpoint.

Maybe the speed sensor magnet/pickup are hitting one another?

It doesn’t make the same loud high pitch sounds “Tsing Tsing Tsing” on a stand when I apply throttle and squeeze rear brake at the same time. All I can hear is break pads rubbing on discs.
Btw I’ve just tightened slightly spokes and put tri-flow lubricant where spokes cross and on a spoke nipple. It made no difference in sounds.
