You can't change the speed limit

I ordered and received my new 860C from AliExpress. It works but in the advanced menu, I can't edit the max speed. Can someone confirm that if you ordered it from Luna that you can edit the max speed and does it make a difference?

Just got my girlfriend’s bike today, put it together and took it for a ride. It felt very under powered in all assist modes, I could only hit 15mph pedaling moderately hard in a high gear. Then the motor cut out and the display read Error 10. Gonna call Luna tomorrow but any ideas of what I should check now? It’s a Ludi with the quiet gear.

You might double check that both wheels spin freely. My rear brake caliper was slightly misaligned on delivery and put some extra drag on the rear wheel. Definitely made the bike feel sluggish on the 'first ride', though I didn't go far enough to trip the 'overheat'. Once I noticed the caliper and re-adjusted to free the wheel, it made a notable difference. You also remembered the spacers on the front wheel, correct? If you're missing those, I think the front caliper could also rub.

It shouldn’t be under power. I’ve just used my PAS 5 on the techy trail. After that it’s too much power. Try to check the connection of your controller maybe something is loose. I had an issue like that and I found out that my connection is loose.

I don't have Ludi and I never go above PAS 3, so something is wrong somewhere on your X1
As was mentioned above, check all connections
Take the plastic side panel off so you can see the motor connectors

I show the motor connectors in this video

Hey all, I know the answer to this is somewhere in this thread but looking for a short cut. Took a big jump yesterday and went down pretty hard as the guy I was riding with went down right on the other side of the landing point. Bent my front brake disk and snapped off the thumb throttle. 2 questions, can I bend back a disk brake (even though I'm ready to upgrade to something bigger) and are there other throttle options available that work with this bike like a twist option? Thanks!

Yes, you can true a brake rotor. Eg,

                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpRhigdK5ic

Can't help you on the throttle, but the stock one certainly looks flimsy. I'm thinking about taking it off.

I planned on taking my front up to 220mm, but got a 203mm instead (by accident). Figured might as well install it, but the new rotor has a very slight warp to it...not enough to bend out, but I cannot get rid of the scrapping. May go back to the stock 200mm SRAM rotor. Oh, the replacement was a Hope 2 pc floating disc that looks very nice but I just cannot get it to not rub. I intended to get the 220 rotor, and thought that was what i ordered, but the packing slip says 203 (I am guessing that when I selected Red carrier, since no Red220 are in stock, it defaulted to the 203mm. Figure, why not just mount it and when the 220 Red is available I can install that and move the 203 to the rear...But now i am thinking that it needs to go back.

Anyone looking to put their bike on the diet, the stock 800mm handlebar is a good place to start. It's 330g, pretty damn hefty. I replaced it with a 760mm carbon bar and it's literally half the weight. You'll need new grips too, I think the stock ones require the cutouts on the end of the bar and I've never seen a carbon one come like that.

The wheel set alone dropped 5 pounds off my X1

I went to that forum and when I click on the link for the wheel set it’s a blank page... would you be able to send me in the right direction for the carbon wheel set

Here is the one I ended up with - you can also find the same rims with Novatec hubs which will be a little cheaper.

                      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32959936504.html

There are a few sellers that seem to source their wheels from the same factory. They have a few rim width and hole number choices that will fit our 2.8s - choose to taste. These wheels have 32 spokes, but I forgot to get them beefed up and they shipped with aero flat spokes - holding up great so far, though. After deciding on the rim profile you need to make sure it's a 27.5 boost set.

Great thank you for the help

Took another look today. All the connectors are plugged in tightly. I took it for another ride and tried throttle only. The motor is spinning but not propelling the bike. I took it back home, raised the rear wheel, pegged the throttle. Just like I thought, motor runs but doesn’t move the wheel. Gotta call Luna now.

The tech who called to help yesterday wasn’t actually a tech He talked me through how to erase the code (it didn’t clear, btw) then said he didn’t know what to do and told me to send another email to support (they haven’t responded yet.)

If Tony from Luna responds to you, tell him to go get someone that knows what they are talking about.
His replies are often completely wrong

Gary is great and so are the bike techs at Luna that I have dealt with.

Ok, I’ll keep that in mind. Seems like I’m waiting in a support queue now.

I’m starting to think the quiet gear swap didn’t go well and that’s my issue. Here’s a video.

                            Guys,

Anybody had issue with Error 30 on their bikes? It came out on mine and tried all the usual fix like checking all connections. I even went as far as removing the main harness from the bike and connecting everything outside. Still no luck. Since we have 2 E-09s at home, I decided to swap out the parts one by one to check which component was at fault. From the display to the buttons switch and finally to the motor. I swapped out my motor to the other (working) bike and the error came out. It also caused the system to turn on by just inserting the battery, without actually pressing the power button. Put the working motor back and system is fine. Safe to say it's the motor that's faulty.

Also wanted to know if anyone has had any experience dealing with warranty from Bafang directly since my bike came straight from Dengfu.

                            Thanks,
                            Walrus
