Luna Advanced chargers - How much Watts it draws from the AC outlet.

How much watts the 300W charger can draw from the 120VAC outlet?

I got that question a few times, from RV owners to people who wants to charge the battery VIA a small genset or a car inverter.

I hooked up the CA to the output and at Watt meter to the AC outlet:

As you can see it's set at 3amp charge current and the Cycle Analyst measures 3 amps or 174W on the charge side but the Watt meter sees 207W on the AC side, So the charger consumes 33W to power the charger & fan. So it's safe to use the advanced charger at 3amps with a 300W AC/DC inverter!

    Hope that helps

Just a note that on a 5 Amp charge the overhead goes up a bit so mine runs at about 300 chg + 38 overhead
