    360 Camera mount

If you don't have one, get one. Anyways this is a whole new animal. I never did the selfie stick, but that is how this works. Where to put the stick opens the doors to new shots. However off road, showing off for the camera, will find the week point of the camera mount and I went through many fails. I finally got it to stay this way. I am a friggin genius. The picture doesn't show the monster zip tie I use to lock the selfie stick to the bar. The clamp on the stearer tube is the amazon thing that looks like a mini Bogen super clamp.

Now it stays in place I will finally take the lens protection off and do some filming. You can't even pick the thing up without messing up the lens. It is unlike anything I have ever handled.

It can bounce around, you can intentionally bounce it around and it comes out stable. Amazing tech. However you can't plug into a windows computer when it is android mode. Change it to apple and it plugs in fine. We used to have a saying: They can put a man on the moon, but...

Intrigued...what kind of viewing can it support? 2D , or just VR? what did that cost you, and where did you get it? Model?

I am interested in a 360 degree camera. I commute by bike every day, and I would like the ability to identify a hit and run driver if need be. I currently only have a forward mounted helmet cam.

Insta360 one is the name. $300. Perfect dash board cam. iT does the VR thing which I don't have, but in the software you point where you want after the fact. This stupid dog vid is the first day out and could use the software to point and make something. The stabilization is majic.
Don't judge the insta360 one quality. First trip with camera and it still has the shipping clear thingies on the lens for protection. The bully is my dog for...

If you get one, come back. I am an old man with a flip phone and could use all the help I can get.

Went over the bars and broke the stick. Good news is the camera is fine. Big rash on the nose. The stick broke at the base so the female 1/4 inch is gone but the stick still goes in and out so I strapped it on a high rise type bar. This is an obvious way to mount, but when retracted it is too close to my hand. The first way goes out forward and takes a decent view even retracted.

Amazing it can be on a long pole and still take steady video! I still haven't read up, but I'm hoping you might share some videos....I'd look.

I only need an audience of one. I will be like the little youtube girls who teach you how to put on makeup. Time to rip the lens cover off. Tomorrow will be a still compared to my fuji waterproof thingy with a wide angle bolt on, and wide angle s9+.

Day one, dear diary, Cape Blanco one year later. A year ago is where I ended the Townie build post on this site and Francesca fell in love with e-bikes riding this beach. I am under the pressure of living up to the past. The bike thing is easy, it is the romance thing that should be more spontaneous than revived.

So WTF, drove for two days and now I can't get to sleep.

Filming something, producing a one min. video of romping the beach is my goal of the week.

I always describe myself as an old guy with a flip phone. Only one step up is a smart phone from Freedom Pop. Last year I used the s4 smart phone to make the snow bike video and take cool stills here at the beach. I have dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back for that. The phone was a hundred bucks and I haven't paid a monthly bill in three years. It was hoop jumping like this that got me retired so I can now say fuck you to the hoops and see what I can do with better tools.

Galaxy s9 plus baby; Verizon. God help me if can't tether at the campground to send this, because this email is the inspiration of my diving into the world of our grandchildren. So I will try something with three new cameras every day and make a post.

ROTFLMAF Like all of us, I have had real responsibility. However I have to make a job of posting a pic? Something the young do as naturally as I check my farts.

No matter how much I learn, I doubt I will just post raw stuff with one button. Editing is part of the creative process. I see no reason to cheat myself of this pleasure.

OK, no pic today. One thing us old guys got: we touch type. Thumb type-rs have little chance of getting wordy. (Or winning an argument without mentioning Hitler.) However I can bore myself with my own lack of vocabulary.

BUT 360! I can't do it justice until I learn to post it 360 and the reader see's it 360 with mouse panning around or cardboard goggles holding a thousand dollar phone.

SOMEBODY CALL THEIR GRANDKID TO TEACH ME HOW TO BE HIP!

Lets see, the fuji is a recognizable fish eye.

the s9 plus in wide, no curve so what gives? I doubt it is 50mm lens:

The 360 can do wild things. This is rectangle so even though it is wide, no curve of the earth stuff:

If the video ever finishes uploading you can see how dizzy you can get working the point of view in editing.

video, sharing, camera phone, video phone, free, upload

We are in cabin Hawk. Left the Uzzi, but have the Townie, Fat Bike, and My Bike. The funny looking guy in photo below has an 80cc bike. We are going to race on the beach, should be good for the Insta360

But what crap the 360 is to take a picture. It is the first one. Dash board cam at best. However, Commuterebikes, if you have your ears on, it kept turning off. There must be some power saver. At some point I will see how long it will record. I have the biggest card it can take, 128.

I thought I could make it even better by lowering the ISO and forcing the flash. So I looked at the menu. I saw neither option. However there is a setting for taking pictures of food. WTF is this world coming too!

Film protector finally off for this picture. It is really hard to handle without touching the lens. Think glass ball.

Blotter... is the music sounding a bit country rock? I am catching hell for smoking. It friggin legal and Francesca is freaking out. Good thing I am not a Merry Prankster or she might find herself going with me on this trip. Oh, wait, I did get on the bus.

I am not getting notifications of updates to this thread. No problem, I will check everyday, but this trip is more than just a test of the camera. How much technology do I want in my life? Will it make my life better or will I become a slave to the computer while it tells me what to do. I lost all my progress and "gold" from Real Racing 3 with the new phone. You should see the hoops they want me to go through. (It is my fault because I didn't link my facebook account, as if I had one.) I have no idea how Paxtana can stay up with all the places he posts. Do you look forward to going on line, or dread it?

Email this morning from B of A virtual financial assistant. Tell you what bitch, get my gold back and we can talk.

When I get home my Luna package will hopefully be there. I bought the motor core for the HD and other stuff to make a complete bike from my junk yard. Basic electricity is something I think I should understand. Really the only challenge the HD has given me. I have treated it as plug and play leaving me time to learn about bikes. Time to see a bit deeper.

Bought the gasket, should I have also gotten a nylon gear or something else?
