Bafang Serial Number Mystery

Okay, so I just bought this motor and despite contacting Bafang directly myself I cannot confirm what model I have actually received here in BBS01/BBS02/BBS02B terms.

Obviously would like to know for future maintenance, parts ordering etc. Was hoping I had the controller with the FETs that could actually handle 25A (even though I don't plan on going over 18A @ 43V, just be nice to have some to spare I figured). Also I don't know if I can fit a gear sensor to this model?

Without wanting to cloud anyone's opinion on the matter, this was sold to me as a BBS02B

Here we go again. Those cryptic engravings are interesting but not conclusive. The one is for the motor and the other for the controller I think. Possible 350w and encrypted date maybe. The gear sensor is connected to a yellow end near the speed sensor cable but I believe you can put it one one of the yellow brake ends.

No yellow end on this one. Got an eight-pin and a three-pin (females) I guess that's diplay and cadence sensor. I heard the brake cable workaround isn't exactly ideal.

Not often I'm stumped, feel like my question here must be either really tough, or really stupid! Solid opinion on this topic is hard to find, there's a lot of conjecture and misinformation.

3 pin for speed sensor and 8 pin for breakout into display, throttle, and brake cutoffs. PAS sense is internal.

I recently bought a Bafang 750w 48v kit which was listed as a BBS02B. I have tried searching for info as to exactly what I was sent since I read somewhere that "BBS02B" should be stamped or etched onto the motor body, which it is not. Have I been scammed! Thanks in advance for any answers

Look at the controller shape (per this article). The two BBS02 motors I have handy are engraved "BBS02B" on the main motor casting, as per the article (roughly where your picture shows "MM").

Thanks for the info. I checked the pictures on the link you sent and it seems it is a BBS02B controller. Currently waiting for a bottom bracket tool to arrive and also building a battery pack
but hope to have it up and running in a couple of weeks.
