My motor seems to be making a noise, kind of sounds like metal rubbing on metal... is there some special maintenance I should be doing? If I start undoing bolts to see what is inside there, will I be able to get it back together again? Not sure what to do.

I took off the bolts; but can't get the cover off; something seems to be holding it but I don't know what, and obviously don't want to break it.
