Hello all, I recently purchased a Luna X2 with the Ludi V2 controller. I have ridden it several times on some light trail rides without a hitch. Recently I noticed a problem with the PAS. It has a slight pause and then engages. I can also hear this coinside with the pedal feel. As i am coasting, and lightly go to pedal, I feel stutter in the motor as if the torque sensor quickly ramps power up abruptly. It is subtle but causes a weird feeling peddling when pedelling lightly. I have played with the Luna controller app and tried to lower amperage and delay pas times. Doesn't help. I found a thread with the 30 second startup time, leaving the pedals alone. Doest work. I think this is the issue I am feeling:
-
In the next revision, can we add/change default data log parameters to aid end user tuning?
PAS mode
Throttle position
Motor RPM (not eRPM)
Pedal RPM
Pedal Torque
Field weakening amps

Oh not stalled at all, I work on the M600 on a daily basis. Chip shortage is keeping us busy, each new batch has to use new ICs that needs validation, testing, new code, documenting, etc which is taking most of my time. My dyno has never been so busy, it feels already worn out but I have walk mode working, and some improvements under the hood that were not released because the new speed limit is just too rough. I work for luna, and there is no intention to make a paid upgrade, we just want to make the bike as awesome as possible.
Also every feature request is duly noted and worked on as soon as production stuff calms down :)

Cool looking logo. Ill print it and clear shrink wrap it on my Bafang crank. :)

Hey-
Here's a link to bafang m600 specific cranks from Miranda.
They ship from portugal - but they show up fast. I've ordered twice from them.
I'm running 160's on my X2 and I like it better than the tricycle cranks they ship with.
The motor=693 filter is the actual Bafang M600 motor filter on the left nav.

I want to know if development of the VESC app for Luna has stalled? I have not seen any information on upcoming updates. Is there an official section to request changes to the VESC app for Luna M600 v2 controllers? I have been running the v2 controller for a few months and really like it. Just throwing it out there but I would support a free version and a paid upgrade "Pro" version that unlocks a few advanced settings. I believe the hours spent by Developers like Marcos should be compensated.

Marcos, did you ever add speed cutoff at 20mph as an option? Like to race my bike but can't make it class 1 without this feature. Removing the throttle I have done and setting max power to 750w is available, just need this last feature to be complaint. Thanks man!

The manual saysVESC Firmware source code: https://github.com/vedderb/bldc/ (Luna code not merged yet)
I'd love to be able to customize a few things at will...here's my current TODO list:
1) Correct for % display inaccuracy and make it read 100% at full charge.
Simple change in mc_interface.c: mc_interface_get_battery_level().
2) Experiment with progressive PAS mapping as suggested by AZguy.
Simple change in luna_display_serial.c: set_assist_level().
3) Add compatibility with different displays starting with DZ41
Should work already but, if not, the code is in luna_display_serial.c: serial_display_byte_process().

IMO I would not goto the trouble to install a brake motor cutoff. In my experience problem is trying to get immedient assistance after the brake switches the motor off. Try riding technical and you will disconnect the cable ASAP.
Back pedal clicking is normal on the M600.
Check the rear brake and shifter cable routing. If it looks secure then consider the shifter cable maybe hitting the upper seatstay. I solved this on my bike with a zip tie.
My settings for Bike CFG. I have 25.00A for Current Max due to my stock battery 30A BMS.

Yes, brake sensor and shift sensor, the bikes ship without them, but if you were to install a shift sensor the controller can use it.
Undervoltage cutoff starts at 40V and ends at 39V. You screenshot shows a non-default undervoltage start.
Encoder offset is different for every motor, so it needs to be calibrated on each bike.

Does the most recent shipments of LUNA X2 Ludicrous Shipped in August of 2022 have the Gear Sensor?
-
Does anyone know if the newest batch of X2 Ludi V2's released this August 2022 came with the gear sensor, or not. I had to tweak the derailleur and adjust barrel a bunch when i first got it doesn't seem to cut out at all when i switch, but i just stop or slow my peddling and make sure i'm in the right gear before i begin the climb, & now it shifts smooth as butter. Still sometimes i hear a rattling sound coming from back tire and chain area, noticed the rotor was against the back side of the caliper so i centered that. So that scraping when away. But I still hear rattling when riding , as well as a weird clicking when i walk it backwards that doesn't happen on my dads stock m600 or brothers ultra. Not worried to much about clicking, but the rattling worries me some. Is there anything I should check that i may not think of? I am not too mechanically inclined, but i did Graduate college for Networking. Haven't worked in technology since 2009 when i moved to Europe for 7 years. So i'm out of practice. But i noticed during my repair of the error 30 that two plugs on the side of my m600 ludi v2 are empty with some rubber covers over them. Are they the gear sensor and brake sensor plugs?
Also does anyone know what the current undervoltage cuttoff and Offset settings come originally on the X2 Ludi v2's most recent firmware, or shipment? I got my X2 Ludi v2 this August(2022)
Thanks i just don't want to keep Bothering Luna with questions. I don't want to be a pest. Sorry to ask so many in one post.
Thanks attached some photos of my X2 ludicrous & that bik cfg tab settings on my bike, which like i mentioned are way different then the manual.Last edited by perseverantone; 09-03-2022, 09:21 PM.

Thank you!!! Thank you!! Thank you!!! I have been looking for these settings for 2 weeks, i even tried to contact Luna for them. I still don't know how the Bike CFG tab came configured originally with newsrt firmware from luna. I got ny X2 ludi v2 this august 2022. I noticed the manual settings don't match my Bike cfg tab settings given in the LUNA VESC app. Manual has offset at 77 degrees, my bike has it set at 162.2 degrees. I never changed the bike cfg tab, but i know i tried to screen shot it. Was worried i changed somwthing that could damage engine or battery. Not sure what the offset is even. When i first got my Ludi x2 it had error 30, ended up, just being the plugs for cables going into side of engine were lose, & one cable got pinched behind the silver wire guide behind battery and needed repairing & set back into guide . Thankfully an easy fix. But before i figured that out i tried to screen shot all tabs, incase i lost the paper i wrote settings down which i did. This is going to help so much.
If you could post undervoltage cuttoff too i'd appreciate it. For some reason my undervoltage and my offset don't match ludi v2 manual specs. Worry i may be damaging my motor. Thank you so much for the post.
