Can I take off the spoked holes ring around the hub motor and the mount a direct tire mount so that I can use any of these more available spoked hub motors?

Do you mean, remove the spokes and rim, to mount a smaller tire direct to the wheel? So you wind up with your hub motor looking like the bottom left image?
To mount a tire, the wheel must have a bead retainer groove on the outside flanges, and must be smaller ID at the center so you can get the tire on, like the top left style above. Unless it is a spoked hub built with those features, no, you can't mount a tire and have it properly retained. Nor is there some add-on to convert it.
Having an air stem helps a lot, too!
