    Bafang BESST

    WORK IN PROGRESS!!!

I've made a little video on how to calibrate and flash your M600 motor using the BESST from Luna.

If you need the user and password, email support with your order number to get it.

Click this link to get the 1.23 software version if you need to calibrate the motor to the controller. :

Alternate video on how to calibrate the motor:

    FAQ:

Never plug a Non-Bafang made display (860C) to the BESST. We had a few reports of damage to the display after a flash. You can flash wihtout any display on it. Luna will not be responsible for damaged 860C displays due to flashing.

This is not like a Bafang programming adapter and software (for the BBSHD/02, ultra) where you can change pedal assist settings, values, amperage, throttle settings. This BESST can only let you flash to a different firmware to change the behaviour of the motor. You cannot change any motor or sensor settings and you cannot edit a firmware.

Where can you get a BESST? HERE

    TIPS:

NEVER unplug while flashing or writing data to the BESST, and don't connect your 860C display to it.

    Known issues:

If you have a hard time getting it to sync or to communicate.. don't loose your cool and repeat the process a few times.

IF you have a 860C display and it wont turn on, try to press the "-" while pressing the power button. We have seen reports that the 860C with 14.6 firmware do this.

    Other resources:

This is a link to a long discussion about firmwares, skip to page 3 or 4 if you want to read about reviews on different firmwares on the X1.

    Cool Vid!

Your link to 1.2.23 isn't allowing download...could be my Firefox

Are you saying that when "calibrating the motor only" that the 1.2.23 besst tool firmware is a must?
And then one needs to go back to 1.2.18 ???
Luna was advising us not to upgrade from 1.2.18 "for swapping out motor firmware".

You can use 1.2.23 all the time, no need to go back to 18. You cannot calibrate the motor on 18 though.
Never update the software, only use the links we give you

I've asked a few colleagues to test the link and it works, it might be firefox, please use chrome or any other.

Got it on the calibration part....thx, I got the zip file to download...just a bunch of warnings popped up.

So, I'm guessing the best thing to do is uninstall the 1.2.18 first, then install the 1.2.23 from scratch ?
I'm already on 14.6....so the only time I'd probably use .23 is if the motor gets fried and needs a calibration.

Any idea what Sondors uses for M600 on Rockstar for programing code? 750 watts at 80lbs is weak. Any ideas besides selling and buying another X-1 my favorite bike of all available.

Thanks "Sebz" for giving out the info here. I have just ordered the BESST tool for my M600 drive. I have an older motor with the Green PCB contoller, not the newer version Blue Colored PCB controller. Also I purchased the drive originally before LUNA started selling this product so a couple of questions please. ....
      1. Do you think there is any compatablilty issues with the older version controllers being used with this
      BESST tool?
      2. Also in general, is this tool OK to use on M600 drives from bikes that are not LUNA bikes? I understand about not useing with the 860c display and thanks for the heads up on that I have the regular small 1.2 Bafang display that is compatable with my older version controller.
      Thanks for this Wayne Bergman

I have not done this yet but will need to as I am expecting a new controller… in the video you say to hit log in… is there a password to use?… in the version now all I ever entered into was offline mode

1.2.18 is the app that allows "off-line" mode.....

1.2.23 requires being online and it allows for the calibration and better parameter settings to the speed/wheel size and circumference.

Luna/Pax/Sebz.....What happened to the login/password to the Besst App, it's not working !?!?!?

Hi guys, wondering if there is any indication when the BESST tool will be back in stock on the LunaCycle website?
