    Sur-Ron X controller

    FAQ:

Is the x controller that is currently in stock capable of regen breaking?

When in sport mode it pulls a bit of power back into the pack when coasting, something like 10% of total kinetic energy. This is not regen braking though, more like regen coasting, and it seems like Sur-Ron is trying to make it feel as smooth and unnoticeable as possible rather than the sort of thing you would feel from engine braking on an internal combustion engine.

(note: earlier controller may have worked a bit differently. production runs are subject to hardware revision by surron)

    Is the X controller faster?

Primarily what this does is make the bike pull more current. This means substantially more torque but not necessarily more top speed.

Generally to get more speed with an ebike you need to increase voltage not current. Since that would mean replacing the entire battery as well as the controller it is not a practical option at this time though we are not ruling it out as a possible upgrade option in the future. Technically you can increase speed with increasing current but unlike an incremental voltage increase which would have a significant impact on speed, to do the same with current you would need to increase it by an order of magnitude.
