  • Threaded inserts for bike frame???

Threaded inserts for my bike frame the type that hold water bottle brackets etc. What are they called? And where can I get them?

M5 rivnuts. You need to drill a hole and use something to deform the rivnut inside the hole. You can get rivnuts at amazon. I use http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...vetnuttool.php

Good stuff, it's not difficult to fabricate a decent swaging tool for Rivnuts. Only way to do it if you rarely need to install them, IMO.

I checked into how the rivnuts are made, looks like the appropriate size bolt, nut and some washers will make a really nice compression tool for them.
